My Mom's Day gift.

Here is a picture of my new herb pot. We got it Saturday and small pots of herbs from a nursery downtown. That was the only place I found one. I remember when you could find them everywhere. I guess they are not that popular anymore. I planted all the herbs in it yesterday. DH made a watering pipe out of PVC, with drilled holes, to put down the middle so the whole pot gets watered. And I can use it to put Miracle Grow in it so they get fed.

cool! my dd1 bought me dirt! my choice, lol...we're adding another border of flowers...

i always have to lol when i see a strawberry pot...years ago we'd taken fil and mil down to tijuana. of course we'd parked on the ca side so dh had to haul this 3 ft high pot and wrought iron holder at least for 2 hours, while we shopped, lol...we had it for a good 10 years till it was broken...:(...good memories!

I am going to buy one of these and would like to know how it has done for you since your posting on June 5. Did it bloom a long time and did the blooms change colors as stated in the Monrovia write-up? Also were the blooms as full and large as shown on the Monrovia page? SheilaJoyce - we share the same special present. My son was born on Tuesday, May 13, 1980. He is my miracle baby as my DH and I had infertility problems and he was conceived one month after I had major surgery so that I could conceive. Never got pregnant again after that! Told him today that his birthday trumps Mother's Day cause I wouldn't be a mom without him!

Jasdip, I feel like I know your mom, after seeing the picture when she was sick, and hearing so much about her zippy and fun personality :) Alisande, your mom looks like Julie Andrews! Gazania, my mom still wouldn't dream of leaving the house without earrings that match her outfit. She rarely leaves these days and takes forever to get dressed, but the woman is still put together when she does! I'm so lucky to still have her here and know this is a hard day for many--you have my sympathy, especially you this year, Raven.

I own a strawberry pot. Last year I had succulents and sedums in it. Everything died over the winter. Yours looks so good, it's inspiring me. I'll go look at herb plants this week. I always wait till after Mothers Day to visit the nurseries. Prices too high before. after they lower prices a bit, the selection is still good.
