RECIPE: Don't know name of this soup...maybe you all may know

I had a wonderful soup at a gathering over the holidays. It was a beef broth with sausages and some onions in it. Don't know the name of it or how to cook it. I know she made it in the crock pot. Does anyone have any thoughts about what it is or how it's made? Thank you. :)

BillV, OMG, that sounds amazing. We were looking at houses in the area where we want to buy by summer and I am thinking that we will be remodeling the second floor bathroom when we do buy. They are all small, old, and berely fit a small bathtub, toilet, and one sink. I am thinking that we will remove the tub and make into a two person shower. Double sinks would be a plus, but there probably will be no room for the second sink. We will be on a tight budget and I was thinking that getting one of these units will be cheaper then installing individual body sprays, showerheads, and such. I just wanted to show DH the unit (that advertguy pointed me to) since DH had no clue what I am talking about when I tried to explain it to him. I looked at the one advertguy sent me and my first thought was, 'It needs rain shower heads'. But the rest of it may be fine for our needs.

There was no return address on the invite so I have no way of contact except for the two phone numbers on the RSVP. I can't find anything on her and don't have fb. I know it sounds like I'm uncertain from the way this post has unfolded but I know it's the same Jane I knew back then. She's the only person with that name I know and the area is where we hung out and she lived. She must have been married once already. I haven't called yet or thought about it anymore until tonight. I can't believe I failed to mention it this to my one friend today. I'm not bitter or anything like that from the past but have no desire to try and restart even a distant friendship at this point. Honestly, I find it tough to properly spend time with my close friends. Sunny - I am so baffled that people actually DO that! It's not like the person on the receiving end of the invite doesn't realize they're being used for a gift. Perhaps some people still give?

Oh suzie2003's post reminds me! One June, years ago, we had our wood floors refinished. Because of the humidity, it was too tacky for the guy to finish them for days. It didn't bother me but it drove my DH crazy. Every day the flooring guy would show up, crawl across the floor on his hands and knees and then say, no, it's still too tacky for the next coat. The guy even came to the house on a Sunday morning, clearly looking like he rolled out of bed, his hair all sticking up, slapped a tool belt over his cut off sweats, and came to our house to touch the floor. The floors look great and, to me, it was worth it so when we added hardwood to the kitchen we called the same guy back. He seemed to be the poster child of what can happen if you breath in too many fumes. But we also suspected it might have been more a result of a misspent youth.

Hi Ginger,I just wanted to follow up and let you know I made the Tuscany Peasant Soup you suggested above. It was delicious. It was ever-so-slightly different from the one I had at that gathering BUT equally as yummy...and surprisingly easy!! A grade of: A+...and thanks again for the help! :) Cremin

Well, I was bored and decided to read some of the older- but not dropped off yet- recipes.

A question- Does the zucchini turn mushy after cooking for several hours in the crockpot? I hate mushy vegetables but the soup sounds good. And it's zucchini season...

Bumblebeez, why not just add the zucchini at the end of the cooking time?? I like zucchini but it isn't like it would add a lot of flavor to the soup anyhow, I don't think.

I put zuchinni in crockpot soups all the time. In general, vegetables don't turn near as mushy in the crockpot as they do simmering on the stove in a soup pot. Not as sublime as stir fry or baked, but still pretty good.
