He was lucky....

No major arteries were cut...no muscles or anything like that.

Denny said they had to take stitches inside but he can't remember how many and they counted 40 on the outside.

His wife told him..."Okay...No more Big Boy Toys for you.!!!"

Thanks Sis and Lilo. Work today is redoing a structure that supports a wisteria with a 16 inch diameter trunk. This thing covers a 12 foot by 30 foot structure that is about 50 years old. Some of the upper cross pieces were replaced last summer but the uprights lean and the cement slab patio is cracked. Figured out how to put a new support structure under the newer previous work and the new patio slabs can be poured independently before or after I do the wood work. Missy's oldest son is doing the cement work as his profession is a mason. Here are a couple of pictures I took when it was dormant and I cleaned out the deadwood and a picture of a smaller structure I did last summer that is similar to the work I am doing on his structure. The wisteria will have an added framework under the existing top frame work with reinforcing hardware and 45 degree supports to the uprights.

You know that fall is coming when you're already starting to plan for next years yard. I dont know if Im the only one who has already done this, but Im starting to already see what Im planting in the yard for next year and where everything is going to go. But most of my plants are growing better than ever so they havent taken a hit from the shorter days. Cooler weather is on the way here too (Not every day is in the 90s anymore) but fortunately no daytime temps out of the 80s and no night time temps out of the 70s. Summer is really almost over and its sad since it went by so quickly. Fall and winter are my least favorite seasons and my plants arent so crazy about it either! Good luck! -Alex

Lily Update: In the hospital

Lily got to come home this afternoon. She has been asleep since she got home. I had a little talk with her on the way home from the hospital. I told her that she has used up her lifetime of drama and she is only 4 1/2 months old. All of this drama and worry over nothing more than puppy teething. Meghane, we have Purdue Univerisity Vet School here in West Lafayette, IN. They aren't as prestigious as some of the big east coast schools, but they are excellent in spinal reseach and treatment and also urology. Considering we have 3 doxies we are grateful to be living here. We are fortunate to be working with Dr. Adams with our Gracie's urinary problems. He is supposed to be one of the top 5 Urologists. What a relief to know no muscle involved. I hope that he heals quickly and as pain-free as possible. I think his wifes idea is a good one. Thanks for the update.

I saw this and went back to read the first one.

Made me hurt just to read about it. Glad you all were able to get him to ER quickly.

Those chain saws are so scary. Wishing him a good recovery.

glad he's ok...chain saws are something we all need if you have land but dang they are so darned dangerous and can get away from you in a split second!
