Yes, we are lit up with street lights. So we don't see many stars at night with so much ambient light.

I live close to the corner where there is a street light.

It's not a very well lit street however..older part of town.

Street lights and every house has a yard light on a post--coach light? It's pretty when I go out to get the newpapers and look down the street to all those lights. The street light is just across the street from our bedroom window. That I could do without. In our old house, there wasn't a light around for miles. It is really, really dark there!!

We live out in the country, no street lights, but we do have an outside 'dawn to dusk' security light. It was here on the farm when we moved here. Have had to have it replaced one time in 25+ years and the electric company doesn't charge to do it.

Have gotten used to it being near our bedroom and when we have an electrical storm and the lightning will cause it to go out for a few minutes and boy does it seem dark then.

When we moved here 11 years ago, it was pitch dark at night, no lights. Now that the city is creeping closer and closer, there are streetlights within a mile of us that I can see. I wish they'd creep in the other direction.

We have 4 dusk to dawn lights. Without them, it would be total darkness, as we are totally surrounded by woods.

What is a dusk to dawn light? Never heard of that before.

A dusk till dawn like is like a street light but usually put up out in the country. You can put them up yourselves or the electric compay will put them up and they charge you each month to use them. However if it belongs to the electric company they take care of it's up keep. They come on at dusk and go off at dawn. At least they are supposed to. I have had to call the electric company once when ours was not working right and they took care of it. I know on some dusk till dawn lights, maybe it was just the old ones, if you installed them you could put them on a switch and switch them on when you wanted. My folks had one like that. They are nice if you live on a farm or out in the country. You can sort of keep an eye on things. Anyone else have anything to add to the discription?

I've lived here for over a year....and I had to look put the window to answer your question.

Nope...no street lights. This suburb is an older upscale, very quiet town, yet our house is only a couple hundred yards from a farm, where I can hear the cows and geese.

No street lights, but we do have security lights all around the house.

We have a street light across the street from our bedrooms. No need for night lights. :)

I live in an old neighborhood and we have street lights,not those newer really bright ones like in the newer developements.On our house we have a dawn to dusk light on the front porch and security lights everywhere else.

There is a street light across the street from my house which gives me a filtered light through my bedroom curtains. I also have motion detector lights outside.

We have a dusk to dawn light out here on the farm. A year ago I had my cousin (an electrician) put a switch on it so it's possible to shut it off for star gazing.

The only light we have out there is the moon...if it isn't shining it is very very dark. Oh...and lightening bugs...lol...there are enough of them to light the whole place up sometimes.

Where I live, there are no lights outside...I had one, but it burned out, or something. No neighbors. It is as dark as the inside of a cow!

Excessive exterior lighting is one of my pet peeves. There are no street lights in our neighborhood, thankfully. For some reason people around here love those super bright barn lights also. Are they picking up needles on their driveway at midnight? Why the need for that kind of lighting at night? I don't understand outside lights being left on all night. Once you are all home, if there is no company company why does the yard need to be lit up?

We have several switched exterior lights on the house. There is one motion detector light, but it's disabled right now because something was setting it off all the time.

One thing I loved about Tuscon, AZ was the lack of street lights. The stars were amazing.

When I lived in Boston my neighborhood had the old fashioned gas streetlights. A very nice, subtle glow.

Our only light is a Cresent Moon! Oh I did light a few Tiki Torches.

We are lit up, even though the light at the top of our street seems to go out regularly.

No streetlights, and only one neighbor has ropes of blue led lighting outlining his roof -- kind of cool looking and not bright. Otherwise, a bunch of solar led fixtures in the yard and driveway.

As I posted just the one dusk till dawn light out front a way from the house along the drive towards the road. None at the back of the house and boy is it dark, not even a light on the house that works. We are in the woods in the country and I do like the light out front, makes it nice when I have to get up and go out with Izzi in the middle of the night. Our neighbor's to the west of us also have one, but it doesn't shine on our property or bother us. Neighbor across the road doesn't have one, but she leaves all kinds of porch and outside lights on all the time, even some that look like Christmas lights. I know she probably gets a bit afraid being in her 90's and living alone. Izzi is now sleeping again, I wouldn't be up now if she hadn't wanted to go out so early.

Most of my village has street light except for one subdivision. Its an older subdivision and is very dark at night. The only light might be a few driveway lights, and the residents like it that way. This subdivision is near a main road leading into town and is not visible at night from the road. The residents claim this reduces the grab-and-run type of crime.

On my street there are "street lights". I have a street light right across from my house. Has a nice amber glow.

We have two dusk & dawn lights.Since we have had so much trouble with peeking toms,I think it is very inportant for us to call and have the power company to come and put us up one in the back and on the side of the house.Also we leave the porch light on since Ashley works till 9pm and comes in around 9:30pm.Also Greg works midnites too some and it makes me and Ashley feel safer too.I hate peeking toms.I wish they could catch him.

The town put a street light right at the end of my driveway. I like it because it illuminates all the way to my front door. With myself and 2 daughters coming home at "all hours" I like the security. The bulb went out once in nearly 30 years. I didn't even call the town, they came and fixed it.

We live in the country, in the dark except for the lights that line the driveway that we turn on for company...so they can find us.

We live in the country too. No street lights anywhere. My neighbor who is closest to me has a security light that he leaves on- That would be it.

We have a street light but it isn't very bright so we added a light for security near our driveway. The back of our house has floodlights that light up our pond at night. Most of our neighbours have extra lighting as well. Living in the city, I'm much happier having lighting. If I lived in the country, I wouldn't mind the darkness as much.

nothin...I live in the County in a neighborhood built in 1970-72. We have ditches, yard and street. LOL

One old streetlight in our old neighborhood. It happens to be at the end of our driveway, so it doesn't bother us any! We have two acres in the middle of the old part of town, so we can sprawl and enjoy our space!
