You seem super knowledgeable on all things technical. I am as well but am seriously lacking on tablet knowledge. My sister-in-law is taking the plunge and wants to buy a tablet that is MS Word and MS Excel compatible (or capable).

I didn't think tablets had the OS/RAM to support MS applications? Maybe there are apps for them! Do you know of any tablets that fit the bill? I think she'd be better off getting a small laptop.

yes I think the new Microsoft Surface tablets can or any that are running windows. They will be pretty expensive since they are newer versions.

Android tablets and Ipads will not. However there are apps that are office apps that are very good but if she wants just those specifically she will have to go with a microsoft based tablet.

Tell her to look at the Surface tablet first and go from there.

My Asus transformer Tf300 has Polaris office on it which is a very good office suite if she can look at the specs on that and thinks it would work for her then she will find several Android tablets that can have that app installed.

IF she thinks Polaris will work for her then pretty much any good quality Android tablet would be a candidate including the ASUS transformer like I have it is a great choice since you can get the additional dock which is a real laptop type keyboard which snaps right onto the tablet making it both a laptop and tablet.

For your malwarebytes logs just do what you normally do to run malwarebytes open the program but instead of letting it run look along the top and there are some tabs there one of the tabs says logs if you click that it will show you what it found on your scans that is what you need to copy and pasted over there so we can see what the infections were that malwarebytes found, that will help determine what direction to go and what to look for that could still be hiding. Generally the only ones that will respond to you in that area of LzD will be the pros. As you can see if you look under both Corrine's name and Winchester's you will see that they are both Admin on LzD so you will be in good hands with them. I understand exactly how you feel since you are new there and have no idea who anyone there is. Feel free to ask anything I am happy to help.

I'm not Revencajun, but I can answer as far as Kindles are concerned with ebooks from Amazon. I have two Kindles registered to my Amazon account; and I also have the Kindle application on my desktop pc, my laptop, and my tablet pc. Any time you get a new Kindle, or download the Kindle application to a device, you will always have the option to access your "Archived Items." Those are all of the Kindle books that you've previously purchased through Amazon. You can choose which ones you want to download to the new device. You can also "manage your Kindle" through your account on Amazon.com, and see a complete listing of all of the books you've purchased (even if the "purchase" was at zero cost), and you can have it downloaded to any device that is registered to your account. As for other sites from which you get books for you Kindle, you'd most likely be able to find out your answer by looking for the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions), or by sending an e-mail via a "Contact Us" link on the site. I do know that when I've gotten books that weren't in the Kindle format, I've converted them using the free Calibre application; and I've always downloaded the books to my pc, then converted them. So, they're still on my pc and I can easily transfer them to my second Kindle (or laptop or tablet) via the USB cable that comes with all Kindles.

you don't have to do anything to make it work once you have it added to your browser, to see it in action go to google and do a search for anything, next to each line that comes up in the search you will see the circles green is safe, yellow is cautionary and red is stay away. If you click on a red site wot will block it and you will see the large wot warning on that warning there is a clickable line that will take you to the info about that site and you can see why it has been rated the way it has. many times there are user comments also which I really like. I have had mine a long time I did not get the offer for the bing bar back then, apparently however it sounds as though you can get rid of it. Usually you can find it in add remove and remove bing there also. I see my wot circles on every page I go to including this one up at the top of my browser bar. Since I use firefox I have moved mine around to exactly where I want it. If you click on the circle at any time it gives you the info.

We use ASUS and Samsung for our research study. I think she would be happy with either brand. I have not used either for actual word processing but have regularly downloaded files to review before responding to emails and such.

Raven, thanks for that link.... I am still just using my Pandigital from a couple of years ago for nighttime reading because I did not want to spend the $$$ for a nicer one. Seems the prices are starting to go down a bit.

Hi Ravencajun! There are actually apps that are capable of word processing if that is what your sister need. These are available both in tablets that support microsoft OS and android devices. There are even tablets that have dual OS and support both android and windows OS which will surely have apps that can be used for word processing. You can check out this site, it might help. She specifically stated MS Word and MS Excel. She probably won't settle for a similar program; I am pretty sure she will need those programs for her job. Thanks for the info; I am sure others will appreciate it too.
