I have a couple questions for you about my Pandigital Novel 9, if you can help.

1. I have seen people mention that they watch movies on this - do you know how? I have Youtube working, but haven't been able to figure this you.

2. I have an 8 gig mini SD card installed and 7 gigs are available, but I constantly have a message that says my phone storage is low. I think that the tablet is installing apps fom the mini SD to internal storage. Is there any way to install to the mini SD of to increase internal storage?

I appreciate any help you can you give.

Hi joann, I can try to help, I have not ever messed with that 9" version of the Novel, I know it came with Android 2.0, have you been checking the pandigital site for firmware updates, I know the one I had there were firmware updates listed on the website.

Since that novel does not come with android market loaded you will need other options for getting your apps, this is a good article with some options for you

I would also get the getjar app so that you can get apps from there and the amazon app store app to get apps from there also. You will have to go into your settings and make sure you have checked to allow 3rd party or other app stores to install on your PDN.

As to where it is storing your apps, I keep special apps on all of mine that let me select where to put each app I aquire, there is an option that lets you select to move app to SD card. I have not used android 2.0 in so long I am not sure where but there is that option in your android settings, If you do not have a file manager app that would be one thing to get so you can keep track of all your apps and downloads and have the ability to move them. I use Astro file manager mostly. The app called apptosd is one that will tell you with each app if it can be moved to the sd card that makes it very easy. There are several apps with that name app 2 sd most are pretty much the same this one here is on amazon market

Once you have made sure you have that setting set for allowing 3rd party apps you can go here to get the getjar app which will then allow you to download and install apps from there.
GetJar app is available for download from here.
click on that green here and it will take you to the install for that app store install that then you can access getjar for lots of great apps.(be sure you are doing this directly from the PDN browser and with a good full charge or plugged in)

or you can click on the other block that says direct install either one will get you the amazon app store app then you can access the amazon app store for lots of apps.
get the Dolphin HD web Browser via one of the alternative Android Markets and install the Youtube search plugin.

Likely the people that are saying they are watching movies have downloaded movies to an SD card and are watching them that way it works very well for that.

On some of the PDN's you could open the back and change out the stock mini SD card that came with it and put up to a 32GB one inside and then you of course can use up to a 32GB one externally. I do not know about that one you have.
However I can direct you to one of the best forums for PDN and you can ask there and I know they will be able to answer any thing you throw at them,

Thanks! I already have the Amazon Market and will install get GetJar.

I checked out the SlateDroid site, and apparently you can't change out the internal memory or install apps to the storage card. I guess I'll just live with the message. It runs fine, and there's still space.

Picking up DH and DS at Minneapolis airport tonight at MIDNIGHT,ugh. That means we won't be home til 2AM, but I still plan to get up and go to exercise class then spend the rest of the weekend with my boys. I want to see pictures of their trip and hear all about it. They are returning from 3 weeks in Amsterdam/Germany/Poland and Ukraine where they visited DD. I was planning to go but the old dog needed me here, and I don't think he could have survived the kennel. Never thought he'd still be around when we started planning the trip in January. Really, really glad my guys will be home safe and sound.

it is truly amazing to see green sprouting out of the ground! It seemed like we could watch it happening, we left to go buy groceries yesterday and when we came back our front yard that had been totally brown was green with fresh tender shoots of grass!! The trees look greener too. I hope and pray it was not to late for my Oak and the big pine, the Oak has one huge brown limb that is over the house but the other side of the tree is still green and now there are green shoots coming out of the bark lower down on it. The big pine had just started to look a little pale, I think it may make it. My neighbor however had 2 big pines in the back that are definitely dead and a big oak right in his front yard that is dead, I think every azalea bush in this area is dead. He had a huge group of azaleas in the front yard and they are fried crispy. Mine look ok since they are in my front bed and I kept the timed soaker hoses in there. I hope it keeps giving us these nice showers every day for a while, they need a much bigger drink!

bengardening your lookbook should have come with a very nice case, the case is included. That was one of the nice things that the case came with it for such a good price. But that is funny because my new sylvania tablet did not come with a case and Friday night my husband walked in with a brand new leather Infinity case, they had a bunch of extras. and it fits my tablet great. Back when we were all getting the Pandigitals several people on one of the android forums had found that owner manual cases would fit them. moonie it depends on how good of a signal it is trying to pick up it can take several minutes, it may say searching, it may say trying to locate signal, if it finds one it should say trying to obtain IP address. When it gives you the list of names of the wifi that it has found then you click it on that one you want and it should ask if you want to connect or something like that. Have you gotten that far has it given you a list of possible wifi connections it has found? I have at times had to just keep hitting the wifi button to do it over till it catches and starts searching. Now that mine is in memory now though it finds mine pretty quickly. janie to delete any icon just put your fingernail right on that icon and hold it steady pressure it should then hilight or change and when it does a trash can should appear and you then drag it to the trash can. If you have one on say the home page to the right and you want it on the main homepage same thing put finger on it hold pressure the drag it over till it flips over to the other home page. There are other ways to do it also but that is usually the easiest. Were you able to get your kindle and the aldiko apps?

Raven, just now seeing this, and I have never heard of this before...but I might do it next year....if I don't forget. I wanted to tell you what one of my friends does every year. He picks up any found money...like coins he finds on the parking lot, or whatever. He goes to the Texas City dike to fish a lot and often finds money there too. Just wherever he finds it. He puts it in a coffee can. At the end of the year, he puts it in a closet....writes the year on the cap of the can. He never spends it. I asked him if he counted it, and he said no. I have known him for 40 years and he has always done this. No telling how much money he has squirreled away like that. He is one of my best friends. I call him a "junk" friend because that is our common interest...we go to the flea markets together. He is very quirky...you should see his house! He has a duplex....lives in both sides of it. He might be called a "hoarder" but he is very neat and clean and everything is extremely well organized. He has dozens of collections. Like, in his bedroom is a tall cabinet with glass doors and many shelves. In it is many, many, many figurines of women/girls in long dresses. I said, "David, what is this?" He said, "Ladies in long dresses."

you are very welcome. My PDN version was able to change the internal card, now they did not plan on people doing that but those crafty people at slatedroid figured out right away how to do that and in some cases re seating the memory card would fix certain problems so then pandigital started telling people how to do it for those problems.

Also not sure if yours came with Slideme app store or not some did, that is another great source for apps. Always check getjar first because they have a LOT of the pay apps for free on their site in the gold section.

My PDN did come with SlideMe.

I am using and liking my PDN a lot, btw, so thanks for the recommendation. What are you using these days?

I got the new Vizio 8" vtab1008 for Christmas and am really enjoying it. So in all I have 4 tablets, still use my 7" sylvania quite a bit too. My PDN is with a family member.
