geez, bought another table.LONG...and pics

So, I stopped at a little used furniture store on the

way to the grocery store. I check it every couple of

months. I found this funky table. It is really quite

ugly! lol I WAS proud of myself! I usually don't

dicker at used stores or even garage sales. But, today

I asked if she could do any better than the $39. She

gave me 15% off. I was hoping for $30 but hey! Not too shabby for me. It has a really ugly lacquer type finish that's cracking and you can see where it scratched when I tried to scratch the adhesive off of the drawer. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but the first thing will be to sand it really well. Then I might stain it, or paint it. I'm not even sure where it's going! lol Maybe in the living room between two stone color chairs. In that case, I might go a funky color. lol who knows. I have two nightstands for our bedroom to finish. They are ready to oil and paint.

I wonder if DH will see THIS table in the garage. I haven't been able to park my car in there for 2 months! One down, previously 2 to go, now 3 to go! lol Oh, the handle has a piece of orangish bakelite (Im pretty sure)on it in the center, you can kind of see it. The handle is tarnished/rusty/yucky lol I was going to paint them, but I still don't have a quilt, or color scheme for the bedroom! lol

this is the before picture of the nightstands. I was looking for nightstands for months and months. I refused to pay the $200 that the stores wanted.. not even real nice furniture, like Target and Fredmeyer for not so cool, not very well made furniture. I found these at another used/new furn. store. I hadn't intended to get matching nightstands, but I thought these were very cool. The color is an odd color that has a hint of green. The vertical stripes are actually raised strips of wood inset into the front of the drawers. They are solid wood, drawers and most pieces are dovetailed. Of course, the "apron" and the base and legs are different kinds of wood, when I used the Formby's on it, it was white wood, and the drawers, top and sides look walnutty! lol It had tons of wood toner sprayed all over it. So, the top, sides and drawer fronts will be oiled wood and the apron, sides of top and the base and legs will be painted. Probably black again, because there is a worn black chest at the foot of our bed.
