Got it right away, I think!

Thanks, Jasdip

(there may be rumblings about pronunciation, though)

Well, I have something. Pronunciation is relevant for my guess too.

Hmmm, my guess has no pronunciation issues. Thanks, Jasdip.

I’m fairly confident in my answer, and while it would be prounced differently in different countries, I don’t see that this would affect the puzzle.

I agree, FOAS.

My comment wasn’t meant to be a distraction. No matter how one says it, it works.

I applaud all of your comments, and hints and your potential accurate answers!

Well done!

’raise the laud I got it!

Got it. 👏

Thanks, Jasdip.

So what is the answer?

Applaud

Up laud

Applaud

I'm impressed with you guys that see and get this stuff. It's apparently not my cup of tea.

To be honest, I rejected applaud and felt it was ”double down”. Thanks again.

tj

Tsug, I’d give you full points for that guess.

“Double down” was an earlier thought for me. But while they sometimes add a word, like e a g l e being spread eagle, I don’t recall them entirely changing a world like that. But maybe I’m just not remembering!

I got it. But I don't pronounce applaud the same as up laud. Difference emphasis. Some of these require a bit of an imagination stretch for me.

Thanks, Jasdip.

Is ”up laud” something that’s said?

No, up laud is not something that is said. It is how to get to the answer. ⬆️LAUD. (Applaud) But it is not how I say applaud.

FOAS, some of the puzzles do change the word. Like hen to bird.

Either way, always fun.

Yeah, but I was thinking there are multiple ways I might say ”up laud” if I were actually to say it, but since I don’t I can’t exactly say how much it sounds like applaud. Clearly, however we choose to say it is close enough for both us to have gotten the puzzle! 🙂

Thanks for the correction with the hen example. Glad I put the ”maybe not remembering” disclaimer.
