Hmm - I got this - The short stop ball. I’m giving myself credit for figuring out ’shortstop’ & thinking wuzzle had something to do with base ball. But, I don’t see a clue to the word threw…. But, on further thought I guess the letters in the top to bottom order instead of linear are meant to suggest the word threw.

Oh gosh I was looking for exactly that sort of thing but totally missed it. I think the ”a” screwed me up because it loused up the pattern.

Wow. Never in a million would I get that one. I was trying to make a flower / rabbit /garden connection with rox’s clues. However, I did immediately figure out foas wasn’t calling anyone a name & meant to key in ”hints” not bints. It’s the Qwerty keyboard layout that tipped me off. Interesting that ’bints’ is an actual word for UK - I never heard it used anywhere I’ve been in US.

Every other letter is an occasional Cryptic. So with that agglomeration of letters that is what I looked for. I am normally no good with these things. So nice to be right for a change. Good fun had by all

Yes, got that one. Like Patriciae says, the bunch of apparently random letters was the clue. And I knew the Beatrix Potter book reference although not one of my favourites.
