'Happy Anniversary to ME'!!!

Golly-I just realized that 8 years ago today (May 3rd)..I underwent the biggest challenge of my life at 54 yrs old...having Gastric Bypass Surgery!

I still shake my head in disbelief when I see the photo of me taken the night before surgery at 325 lbs! But I'm really proud to say that of the 200 lbs I lost in 14 months..I have only gained 9 pounds back in 8 years! My Doc says I am right where I should be. Speaking of BMI..mine was 57.6 the day of surgery & today I'm at 23.7-and am now 64 yrs old. Not bad for an old broad! Just had to share.

Congrats Sharon...you're a rare one..I've noticed some of the hollywood types who've had it done have put their weight back on...I know the constant battle you face...losing weight ain't for sissies!

Thanks to all who responded with good wishes! We had a lovely day and found the perfect Meyer Lemon Tree. It is already planted in a nice pot and it is filled with sweet-smelling blossoms. I had planned to put it on the back patio, but for the time being, I'm putting it by the front door so that I can enjoy that fragrance every time the door opens.

Fabulous! Congrats on all accounts. Jasmine, there are wedding anniversary roses. I have Diamond Anniversary which symbolizes the 60th wedding anniversary. When Ralph Moore developed it, he couldn't keep it in stock there were so many orders. Gave it to my parents when they celebrated their 60th. It is a very pretty mini. There is also wedding cake rose. Another unusual rose, which is about to start its fall bloom for me. Again, congrats, Roseseek! What a thoughtful and wonderful gift!

Happy Anniversary! My SIL is scheduled for this surgery June 3, he has been working on getting the surgery for almost two years.
