Rose propagation question

I know there is a forum for this, but I think someone here will know the answer. If not, I will go over there and ask.

I bought a hybrid tea rose today and accidentally snapped a piece off of it. I'm going to try to root it, as per instructions I have found to do so. I have nothing to lose by trying. I was wondering about something though. When you buy a rose plant, it is usually grafted, I believe. Of course you don't have this when you root a rose yourself. So are home rooted roses at some sort of disadvantage because they're not grafted?
