We were busy with a baby shower, holiday get-togethers & trying to get ready for a road trip but I worked on a graduation quilt - thought I was done but miscalculated and need to do 4 more rows (20 squares per row!)
Started packing the RV today ... leaving Wednesday. 2 more loads of laundry ... can sew a bit tonight while that's going!

I finished my August Birthday blocks and worked on a wallhanging for a Christmas gift. It is mostly bobbin work, so I just do a little at a time. I did spend a few hours putting all my different metallic threads on bobbins. I have 5 bobbin savers coming this week. I want to have all my specialty threads handy on bobbins, rather than winding them as I go.

Well, at least a little, LOL. I had some machine cleaning and fettling to do, but in the end, I loaded the quilt with the flying geese border, and started it.

Even though it has been cloudy and raining ALL DAY EVERY DAY for the last WEEK, I didn't do anything until Sunday, finally got in there and actually FINISHED a rag quilt that I had cast aside months ago because clipping the seams was driving me BATTY! I had used a big stack of upholstery samples that someone who runs a furniture store had given me years ago. I picked out all the pure cotton or linen pieces and cut them into 8 X 6 inch rectangles. It's a large lap quilt. Boy, it's a good thing I checked the dryer lint catcher five minutes after putting it in, if I hadn't I might have burned the sucker up! I cleaned it out every 5 minutes the whole time. DH looked at the lint pile I had dumped into the garbage can, I could see the look in his face, it had that "looks like I might be cleaning out the dryer stack pretty soon" look.

I quilted all day Sunday and Monday. On Sunday I made my July table runner and on Monday, I made a baby quilt. Today I plan to quilt them. We'll see if that happens!

I worked on 6 boomerang blocks (cut, sewn, pressed, and folded into envies to be mailed tomorrow when I get paid), and pulled out about a dozen more F8's to coordinate fabrics with, selected patterns, and made my notes. But between baking for birthday Sunday at the church, family get-together on the 4th, went to the office on Monday to print a huge file for my boss (took several hours), and some laundry, I didn't get too much done. Back to it tonight, though. Those boomerangs need to be out and on their way home by the 17th (and there are 35 total to be finished, so I am about 1/3 of the way done).

No quilting for me at all this past weekend. Spent most of it outside at he lake with the kids and grandkids.
Come January tho I'm going to have to have a new baby quilt already. Oldest son and his wife announced they will be having baby number 2 in January.
I've already been looking at baby quilt patterns! LOL

Why is it on the long weekends, I get even less done???? Went to the lake on Saturday, church and more 4th parties on Sunday. Monday, the outside of the house got some TLC (much needed!!). Yesterday was "my" day? The lady came to help clean the inside of the house, I had my hair done, a pedicure and went out to dinner! It was wonderful. And, I did get a few more flowers stitched on my hand applique square. So, not much stitching, but a fun weekend. I hope to finish some of my outside chores by this weekend. I hope the deck will be cleaned up enough where we can actually use it!

First, Hello everyone. Newbie here.

I hand quilt. But yes, I quilted most of the weekend. And most of this week. I've had off this week from school so its provided a great opportunity to put down the textbooks and relax. (College - I'm 22.)
You have to excuse my lack of lingo.

But I have pinwheel blocks which are sown together- which are 7 '' x 7''.

And I had to add a 3 1/2'' x 9 1/2'' , plus a 3 1/2 x 6 1/2''. Strips to each of the pinwheel blocks.

To give me a final block of 10 1/2'' x 10 1/2'' squares.

Out of 42 blocks needed of the 10 1/2 '' x 10 1/2'' - I've completed 33.

I would say this weekend I completed about 22.

I got bored with making so many pinwheels. So, I skipped to the next step leaving out 9 pinwheels, which I have not sown yet. So, now that the rest of the blocks are completed. I will be going back and sewing the pinwheels. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Pinwheels= death.
