Welcome from this NE Mississippi daylily lover, grower and now breeder. I also grow about 50 different TB Iris and I love the Iris because they bloom first and then the daylilies start opening as the last of the Iris bloom for me. You can enjoy both of them. Now, I'm not as addicted to my Iris as I am my daylilies, not by a long shot! I'm still small compared to most here but I'm as addicted as anyone else is. They are all right. Just one pretty Dl and then maybe a few more and then about 25 more and then 100 and then you get a second mortage so you can buy about 500 more! You will love every minute of it. I read the article and felt saddened. We have owned Dell computers exclusively since the beginning. We still have 3 desktops and two laptops. Never had a problem all these years except for one desktop which is an Optiplex. This computer was purchased for our office and always had small problems since day one, 4 yrs ago. Others have criticized Dell service, but we have always found their service efficient and quick. We never sent a computer back, they would send a technician to the house to do any major repairs. We own two business machines, the Optiplex and a Vostro laptop. Both came with extended warranties. The laptop has always run well despite my husbands rough handling (dropped it twice from the desk and has knocked it out of the car a few times. Never got damaged...amazed! The Optiplex has had multiple service calls and it still doesn't work right. The USB drives keep quitting and require restarts to get things working. They have replaced the card readers and finally the motherboard. Same problems continue and I've learned to live with it. I do intend to contact them again after reading the article. I always liked the fact that their computers could be ordered with exactly what you wanted installed. You could configure the machine and not have to deal with all the junk usually installed on a store-bought computer. They do offer excellent service on their office machines. Very quick phone response, and always techs in the US. We are considering purchasing another desktop to replace my husbands 8 yr old computer and now am not sure if we'd go with another Dell. I tend to think of Dell like Ford. Ford seems to be finding its way back to America, maybe Dell will do the same. Jane

Very glad someone is still using this thread. My stackable w/d in 2nd floor condo is older Maytag workhorse INSIDE CLOSET. Most stacked laundry centers are 27" wide and mine was installed by removing side wood strips but not actual door frame. Never a problem for many years. 3 nights ago felt carpet was wet outside w/d closet and found out washer had water underneath it. I had NOT done any laundry for past 2 weeks so figured it was leaking just from residual water in pump (now assume it would've leaked sooner if pump) or from leaking water intake hose (can't move unit to look even if I knew what to look for or outtake hose/pipe has clog/blockage. Had to turn off water at main since can't turn off at machine because it's BEHIND stacked units. Dried water on floor under washer in closet and eventually no more water leaking under washer. Now stuck between repair man and plumber deciding which one will come out to investigate. Don't even know if 30 year old Maytag workhorse parts are available. Some tell me to just get new stackable laundry center but not to expect it to last more than about 10 years. Found out this isn't unusual conundrum because by the time the repair man checks it out & say's it's the plumbing and I have plumber come out to see it water outtake is blocked I'll have spent half price of new stacked laundry center. Have to turn water main back on tonight because I need to collect much more water to flush toilet, wash hands, etc. Never saw example of how much water it takes to flush a toilet but need a lot more. After I turn on main for short time to collect more emergency water I'll see it washer leaks again and hopefully that will tell repair man and plumber which one has best informed guess if it's washer failure or outtake blockage. I know most people are going to tell me to scrap the old stacked w/d but it's been without any problem & it's a solid built pair of appliances. Am I soliciting advice in error when it comes down to my uninformed analysis of whether to money at repair of either machine/outer hoses and/or plumbing outtake blockage? And NO....once service and/or plumbing people hear it's stacked w/d they don't call back or tell me they don't send 2 people for initial call but can't tell me how one person is going to pull out very heavy laundry center to assess problem. GE stacked laundry centers don't get best reviews but they're the bulk of the market if you want at least average 3+-4 stars from all sales/review places. If anyone has advice on this situation please let me know. Have the feeling people who frequent this or "appliance" discussions will be of the mind to just get a new unit and dispense with all the guessing between repair man, plumber and myself isn't worth it given the age of the units even though I'll never get one that's a long term workhorse like my old Maytag laundry center. Maybe I just have to accept built in obsolescence of never appliances, HVAC, etc. and get on with it. But, but, but....sigh.

I understand what you mean when you wrote that when you almost had the quilt almost finished you realized you would not like it. That is how I ended up with so much fabric in my stash. Recently I found a quilt fabric store owner who told me not to buy all the quilt fabric at once. She advised me to make my squares then bring them in and choose the next fabric, then come back again to choose the following fabric. My quilt top is complete now and I Love it!!! I saved a ton of money by not buying sale fabric, but just waiting and paying full price for what I really needed for the look I wanted. Hopefully I can keep this new found restraint.
