range location/sink under window?

Okay, let's see if I can describe this situation. We are putting a 36" DCS range on the wall of our kitchen that faces the front yard. To the left of the proposed location is a large window that drops down too low to allow base cabinets. (We are going to put a table-height freestanding unit there.) There is enough room for about a foot of counter. To the right is a few feet of counter with the DW underneath, then the double sink. Currently, the sink is centered under a window (my window-to-the-world). Our KD wants to shift the sink and DW to the right to allow him to have "balanced-looking" wall and base cabinets on either side of the range. -- My question is: would it be strange to have the sink and base cabinet off center from the window? I'm having a hard time visualizing it. Does it matter that the cabinets next to and above the range are balanced? I guess I'm wondering if it's better to have a lopsided sink area or lopsided range area.
