On way for MRI, which didn't happen, stopped by Homewood Gourmet: bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo with their homemade yeast roll for sopping!

Great minds think alike. Wes is off to an overnight mountain man bare-bones wilderness camp out. I am having two poached-to-perfection eggs on toast, with homemade apple butter and hot tea.

Made eggplant parmesan for my husbands dinner, I will have shells. It has been raining since last night & they say rain for the next 2 days. Today I got some more spring cleaning done, almost finished.
Patti, I don't eat fish even tuna. I love to cook but most nights I make 2 meals because I don't eat what I am making. There is not much I will eat.

I had salisbury steaks/gravy, mashed potatoes, and leftover creamed corn. I also made chicken vegetable rice soup today. With what I cooked yesterday, I shouldn't have to cook for a few days.

I love fried egg sandwiches.

I haven't as yet picked who to root for today. I'll just watch. I wish the gal AND Stevens all the best.

Nothing...had a late lunch at Pat's in South Philly.....nothing like a good cheesesteak to fill you up.

Oh, thank goodness I opened this post. I was suppose to go to Kingsmill with some friends today to watch the LPGA golf tournament but DH wanted to go out to lunch. I could hardly say no since I played golf and had lunch with the ladies on Tuesday, was out with the ladies for dinner Wednesday night, played golf and ate lunch out with the ladies on Thursday, was out all day yesterday and am planning on going to the movies, followed by dinner and Mexican train Monday night. We celebrated Cinco deMayo one day early and did Mexican today then bought some wicker chairs for the porch. I've been watching the ladies play golf on T.V. and just decided to check in at the Kitchen Table. I would have forgotten about the Derby had it not been for you, so thanks for the reminder. Dinner for tonight? I don't know. I'm not that hungry. Think I'll check the freezer and see what soups are there.

I'm going to cook Italian sausages on the stove top, along with plenty of onions and grilled peppers, cole slaw on the side.

Mary, you mention having "shells " very often. How do you fix them?

Absolutely gorgeous day here. I picked up some garlic and we planted them in our little garden this evening. According to the directions the bulbs can be planted in fall or spring, so we'll see.

Hubby mentioned this morning that he would love cheeseburgers for dinner, the way that I made them last time. I put lentils in the last time we had them, so did it again. It's become a favourite of ours, and it makes for a healthier burger.

Sliced some raw potatoes and fried them, and baby spinach salad.

Glenda, sorry you didn't get your MRI over with--and even sorrier that you had to have one in the first place. At least your lunch sounds good!

Caroline, Harry used to go to convention every year for a weekend and up to our cabin that we were remodeling. Most weekends I'd go with him to the cabin, but 'ya know, it's nice to have a weekend alone once in a while. Enjoy!

Mary, I'd share your shells--I'm not a fan of eggplant, either. Think our rain is about over but over the past week we got about 4". Still need more though.

Shirley, you must have the cooking "bug". I need to catch it!! It was a good race, but no gray horses. Poor Harry :-)

Monica, I wish I'd had a Philly cheesesteak while the kids lived in PA and took us to Philadelphia a couple of times. Everyone raves about them.

Georgysmom, if we have lunch out, we're never hungry and usually don't eat at all. But if we eat at home, I guess we don't eat enough at lunch to last :-) Glad you didn't miss the race. It was a good one! 14 of the horses were either bought here in Ocala or were broken and trained here.

Rhizo--question for you. When you cook the sausages just to eat (as opposed to putting them in a sauce or something), so you leave the casing on? I usually just put them in something, so I take the casing off and "scramble it.

Jasdip, garlic is a pretty plant. As fast as I go through it, I should plant some myself. It's nice your DH tells you what he'd like for dinner. Harry won't say even when I ask him!!

Patti, when cooked to eat on a bun, they keep the casings. Usually grill them but it's too darned rainy.
