quilter's portrait

We probably all have a few informal pics of us with a quilt or working on one. But have any of you had a more formal portrait done as a quilter--something to link us and our avocation to future generations and maybe inspire new quilters.

I can imagine a little girl asking, " Mama, who is the lady in the picture with your quilt?" "That's your great grandmother and she made that for me when I was a little girl." Okay, that's a bit schmaltzie, but why not commemorate something that gives us such pleasure and that can be passed on.

I inherited a gold locket of my grandmother's and I also have a formal engagement picture of her wearing that locket. Having both makes it just that much more special.

It doesn't have to be taken at a photographer's. What with Photoshop, even amateur picture takers can do the job.

What to you think about that idea?
