Are you quilting this weekend? April 18-20
Comments (15)I probably won't get much sewing done this weekend. My mother came in this morning. My son and daughter in law also came in. We went to an old old restaurant in Chattanooga called Bea's for a late lunch. 4 cousins also went with us. It's one of those old southern restaurants that have a lazy susan in the middle of the table and keep the food piled high. They were serving fried chicken, bbq, chicken and dumplings, okra, sliced tomatoes, stewed potatoes, slaw, potato salad, greens, pinto beans, rolls, corn bread and cherry cobbler. The restaurant has been in business since the early 60's with the same lazy susan tables. Best fried chicken in the area. You eat all you want for a moderate price. Mom will be here until sometime Sunday, so I won't be in the sewing room until after she leaves. Jackie...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? July18-20
Comments (30)Kate, it's just lovely! I've used Carol Doak paper piecing patterns before and I really like them... I've found them easy to use and very attractive. Without even knowing it, you are the one who turned me on to paper piecing in the first place... Your main machine was in the shop and you posted something that you did with the Featherweight and I really liked it and started experimenting on my own and I totally love it now... thanks! I called Heartfelt today to get some information and they were very friendly on the phone... they have a free Sit and Sew on Mondays and one on Tuesdays that you pay 5 dollars for and it's called a "work shop"... you work on your own project, bu they are available to offer assistance... They have a monthly embroidery club and I asked if they had the designs in the format that my machine takes (because they are a Janome dealer, I didn't know if they'd have Bernina formats), and they said they do, so I may go to that if I'm off for the next one... I forgot to ask if I have to bring my own stabilizer or fabric, but hopefully, I can make it to a sit and sew before then and ask those questions in person.... I also forgot to ask if you just show up, or if you register in advance... I should really write a list of questions before I call places!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Sept. 19-21
Comments (8)LindaOH - I hope everything goes well on the sale of your house. It can be frustrating, I am sure! Lois - how exciting to spend 3 months in Hawaii. Do you have family there? Toolgranny - I hope they pass you over quickly so you can get back to your quilting stuff! :) Sounds like everyone has lots of fun stuff planned! My sister & husband arrived here Thursday and will be leaving in the morning. I will pick up the 18 vest & 6 aprons I sewed for our Lions club from the silkscreener, so I just need to add the Lions club patches to the vests. Then I hope to get a little bit of quilting in. I actually started piecing something for the retreat challenge - we will see how it goes and if it gets finished. I have a pile on the floor of things that I am getting together to take to the retreat. We leave here a week from tomorrow so I have a lot to finish! Sue...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Comments (21)I had a productive weekend! Finished two quilts, including the binding; one for a gift and one for a new wallhanging outside the front door. Also made a bracelet. I'll post something separate with pictures. Still no where near ready for Retreat. I don't have finished quilts to bring, other than a small wallhanging, and haven't decided what new thing to start working on. Running out of time!!!...See Moremsmeow
