What;s for dinner Tuesday?

Tonight we're having the rest of the shrimp from our Sunday dinner in Homosassa. A friend told us about a little dive called The Freezer. It's called that because it's where the shrimpers and fishermen used to store their fish overnight. We ate out on the waterfront and I don't think I've ever had such good shrimp. Right next to it is the docks so I guess it's just about as fresh as you can find. Not much on the menu besides shrimp and stone crab. Harry and I split 2 lbs and so did his DD and SIL. The kids ate every single bite of theirs but we had enough left for tonight. Oh the place had $2 beer, too :0

So it's shrimp (with lots of Old Bay) and the very end of the potato salad and sliced tomatoes. Guess I have to cook tomorrow LOL!

Finishing up the French spring soup. This time with ham and cheese sandwich. DH really loved it. When I got home from golf today the first thing he said was, "you can't have any of that soup tonight." There's a whole quart of it left over. I think that's enough for two people! He said he thought it was the best soup I've ever made. This is so shocking because he doen't even like asparagus.

My husband has said he will grill the nice bone in ribeye steaks we picked up and I am cooking fresh corn on the cob to go with it and sliced farm tomatoes. Beautiful day but oh so hot!! still over a hundred right now and will likely stay there for a while. I am headed to the atrium to turn on my sprinkler system I have set up in there. I can make it rain! LOL the plants and birds love it!

Leftovers here, too. I'm going to make chicken fajitas with the chicken from last night, plus grilled green, yellow sweet peppers, and onions, avocado, chopped lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream, all on a flour tortilla. I'll mix up a little fresh salsa, too, I guess. Raven, I hope that your power comes back on SOON!

One week into school and 3 of my 4 kids were sick and I've spent all day nursing them. Just got groceries yesterday which means I had fresh ground beef (not frozen) so I asked hubby to make burgers. They were tasty as always! Even the sick kiddos ate them up!

Tonight was sister's night at the Home. We each take our own food, usually fast food, and take turns bringing Annie hers. I had a coupon to get $2 off one of Wendy's big salads, so got the Baha for myself. It wasn't anything to write home about.

Today was grocery shopping day so we 3 gals plus Alyssa ate out at Bob Evan's. I had the all you can eat salad, soup and bread, plus iced tea. I did not eat my banana bread, sent it home with Amber for Alyssa. The soup and salad were good. Sorry Patti I don't like shrimp fixed anyway. For supper I had bread and butter with radishes from my garden and the rest of my to go iced tea from Bob Evan's.

good ole hamburgers..pan fried...sliced and seeded a tomato, lettuce but no cheese...side of baked beans..tried a new brand to us ..tasteless...

Tonight was clean the fridge night, so the wife used a left over grilled chicken breast, a small piece of steak, chopped it all up with other ingrediants and made fried rice. One of my favorites.

Pam, you should've come over. We still have enough left for another meal, but I froze it. Glenda posted a recipe this morning on the "I'll share my recipe" thread for Red Lobster shrimp quiche that sounded really good, so maybe next week we'll feel like shrimp again. Wish we'd had some of your corn.

Bigack, I wanted spaghetti for tomorrow's dinner but Harry has opted for pork chops. I need some pasta!!

Sue, did you find any great deals at the grocery today? I envy you--fresh radishes from the garden. Nothing better than that!

Susanjf, nobody ever complains about good old hamburgers! I've about decided I don't really like baked beans that much.

Jasdip, glad you took a little break--unless you made your own soup fresh today and baked the bread for the sandwiches ;-) Are you still having spring-like weather?

Nod702, now why don't I ever think of fried rice on clean-out nights?? Great idea!!
