What's for dinner Thursday?

Tonight we're having Nettles smoked sausage, sliced tomatoes and the rest of the potatoes gratin. If you live near a Publix and they have Nettles sausage, please try it. Nice and spicy! It's made in the next county over from us.

Was looking for GS for cargo pants at the thrift store, no luck, this time, so while I was so close to Joel's I stopped for lunch.

Delicious meatloaf, northern beans, squash croquette and a slice of cornbread.

Their dessert of the day was peach cobbler, but I didn't indulge.

osso buco. Beef shank browned, onions, celery, & carrots, sauted, then combine all that with beef broth and cook til beef is done. Add orzo and cook til done. Yum! I've been craving it.

You need to share the citrus dressing recipe ; it sounds good. Fixed a good salad with mixed greens and all kinds of stuff, lol. Robert didn't want ginger dressing again, so I whipped up creamy green goddess type of concoction.....then put our leftover salmon from last night on top. I am going to have to get some asparagus!

Shirley, our weather is very similar, and today was nice, wasn't it? Your meal is nice and comforting. I couldn't imagine not having leftovers, or living with someone who doesn't like them. I know people like that, and it's a fresh meal every nite. Jim, how nice having tomatoes and green beans from the garden. Our tomatoes aren't even ripening yet. The landlords gave us a bunch of pole beans, which are long and flat and they went into the soup the other day. They were really good. Raven, was your dinner as good as it sounds?? Do tell. Pam, pizza is good anytime but I'm sure even more so, with your grandson Georgy ravioli with your marinara sauce would be awesome! Rhizo, hubby loves ordering BLT's for breakfast when we go out. Angela, I'll take my cool summer over your heat any day! But a chicken salad is perfect. OF, you must finally be happy! You got some summer temperatures. And you still put the oven on! :)

Same as yesterday -- Various snacks, cheeses, hors d'oeuvres, mini sandwiches, chocolate-dipped fruits, and brownies at a Christmas party. Yesterday was a retirement party for the head of the University Library where I work, today was a shindig put on by a large realty firm at which friends of ours work.

Mimipadv......we always find that the pineapples get sweeter when we leave them on the counter for a couple of days. When they start to smell like a pineapple we cut it open. Your pork chop dinner sounds delicious. It was cold enough that I was wanting a beef roast. Party, today was definitely chili weather in your area and ours (and Gadgets') Pam what a treat, having filet mignon!! Good for you! Rhizo, I have the urge for quinoa tabbuleh and your dinner confirmed my taste buds wanting that. That's a summer dish for me. Gadgets your chicken and potato wedges sounds good to me too!

We 3 gals had sandwiches at noon from Mr. Happy Burger before we headed over to the church's basement to decorate for the Mother/Daughter Supper this Saturday evening. Amber and I had huge Hoosier Breaded Tenderloin sandwiches and Cheryl had some kind of chicken sandwich. My sandwich had lettuce and tomato on it plus mayo. It could have used a lot more condiments, too skimpy. I had my own iced tea with me. No supper for me this evening. The tables at the church look really pretty. Off white table cloths and the tables have rectangular arrangements of tulips tied with raffia. Each arrangement of tulips is a different pastel color. Pink napkins and some chocolate pieces on the tables too. There are also candle holders with little battery operated tea lights to be turned on. The girls also put the silverware around for each place setting, making sure each piece was very even. I only folded napkins and watched Alyssa. They will be serving the meal on white round Corelle plates. Looks really nice.

Friend's DH brought me some fresh fish, so it was that,fried, homemade bread and iced tea. Pretty darned good!

We are having 15 bean soup and cornbread muffins. Whatever is left over will be frozen for our trip.

Grilled chicken,with some of Larry's awesome Fried Green Tomatos.. fried taters, and salad..

No dessert.. too fat.. both of us..lol

Went with Mom to the Mother/Daughter Banquet tonight at the church. The men of the church served us chicken, msh pot/gravy, green beans, and cake and ice cream. Actually they changed the name of it this year from the "Mother Daughter Banquet to "All Daughters Banquet".

Earlier today, Mom, her two sisters, and I, went out to lunch to celebrate our May birthdays. Needless to say I ate way too much this Thursday!
