I can't sleep during daylight. I'm up at sunrise, even tho I rarely have to be.
Maybe "farmer" genes from daddy's side.

The older I get, the more I like them. I use to couldn't go to sleep during the day, no matter how tired I was. I can now and usually feel really good when I get up.

We kept both of our grandsons (both 2 years old) all night Sunday and until noon Monday. The minute they walked out the door, DH and I cranked down the a/c and went and took a nice long nap.

No, I've never liked naps. I used to make my mother crazy. Even as a very young child, I would lie in bed and wiggle one finger to stay awake.

I don't nap every day but there are some days when I can't get by without one. I usually don't like to sleep during the day though because I feel sluggish after I wake up--now if I could just sleep right through until the next morning I surely would. I can sometimes sleep 12-14 hours a night!! Sheila

I've never liked to take naps because I didn't want to sleep away any daytime. *S* Now I do occasionally take naps because the main side effect from my chemo treatments is fatigue. So a nap makes me feel much better.

I USED to like naps...

Now that I am eating right (lower carb - good carb), I don't ever need that mid-afternoon nap. I am not tired at all!

And I sleep straight through the night 8 hours.

Once in awhile I like to take a nap on the couch. Especially if it's a rainy day. I'm usually busy though and have better things to do. I can't sit still for very long. Drives my dh nuts.

I pass out every day at 2 pm and sleep soundly for 20 minutes and then I'm ready to go again. If I don't "nap" I fall asleep wherever I am. Bad habit, I suppose.

I suspect one reason I like them is that I only sleep about six hours at night. We are usually up at 4:30-5:00 here even on weekends.

DH doesn't like "naps" if you call them that. He just likes to watch a little TV sometimes and "falls asleep." LOL!

I love a "good" nap! Like about an hour long. The only day I can nap is Sunday....sigh...

I LOVE a good nap and will nap on a daily basis. I have no shame!

Sometimes on a gray rainy day like today I'd love a nap. But it seems every time I try to take a nap, the dang phone will ring right after I doze off. I like to snuggle under the fleece blanket my daughter made me a few years ago for Christmas. Then the kitty hops up there too, to take a nap with me.

Some days I just can't stay awake and lean back in my lift chair, with the dog curled up beside me, and we'll sleep a good hour or hour and a half. Other days I'm fine.

I am a nap hater. lol I always feel terrible after waking up from a nap. I would rather just go to bed an hour or two earlier if I am that tired.

I have had to take more naps since I found out I was hypothyroid. If I get up too early in the morning (like for garage sales), I find I just can not function without a nap. Unfortunately it takes a couple hours after a nap for me to feel better ... so my day is pretty much wasted regardless.

It's all my dog's fault. She falls asleep on the sofa in the afternoon and before I know it; I do too! I don't want to, but I just can't keep my eyes open. I have to get up at 6AM.

I love sleeping. I'll nap anywhere. today I drove my daughter for a job interview. I sat out in the car and fell asleep. She didn't get the job, but that's okay. She'll find something better.

I love naps, especially short ones. I've been thinking recently that I ought to make time to lie down briefly ever day, or at least more often. Even just lying still and breathing deeply for ten minutes can make a big difference in how I feel.

I love them but I can't take one stretched out - I used to though. If I'm crocheting away in my rocker I can almost bet on a nap.
When I was a working gal I had to take a bus from a parking lot to the downtown office and it would sometimes be a 45 min ride. The minute that bus took off I was out!!.

Oh YA! I love a good nap...especially if it is cloudy/rainy/cool!!! =) I had a really nice one about 1:30 today. I usually sleep for one hour. It usually takes me about 15 min to really wake up...I sit at the puter then. I don't HAVE to have one, but I sure enjoy them! I rarely have a problem falling asleep...any time, any place! Even after a Big cup of coffee! LOL

My mother/father/grandmother would all lay down for a "snooze" after lunch (dinner on the farm) and it was usually for 45 min. Dad would get up and have something sweet before leaving for the field again.

L-O-V-E naps! I feel more rested after a nap then after a night's sleep! (could be because I never sleep through the night!)I take one every chance I get!!!

I never took naps until just lately and I can hardly get through the day without one. I don't like it. I wish I could
stay up and work because when I get up, I have so much left to do. I sleep good at night too. I guess I am just getting old.

It might be that my husband is gone and it is lonely here sometimes. (My husband just took a job where he is gone for from 2 to 3 weeks at a time.)

I'm sorry, Marilyn. Girrrrllll...that's somethin' for YOU to say that it's lonely there!! LOL ((Marilyn)) Wish we could go junkin' together. I can just see us fighting over the same trash, er...precious collectibles and them gettin' all bent and bloody! LOL

It's just been in the last couple of years that I've started enjoying naps. Don't want to get in the bed. Then I get wide awake. I usually crash on the couch with a throw over me, a dog beside me and one or two cats lying on top! If the phone rings it's like an exodus gettin' off the couch! LOL

For me, nights are for sleeping....well, the wee hours of the morning, since I am a night owl. LOL I can only nap if I am sick or just completely exhausted, and then if I nap, I want to sleep all the way through until morning. I want to enjoy every waking minute I can get, not sleep my life away.

I love taking a nap. I was so sleep deprived for so long while working all the overtime I did. I'm retired now and will take a nap any time I have a chance. Lately I have been too busy, but when I get back from vacation next week I plan to catch one every now and then.

I usually take a nap each afternoon when I get the kids down for a nap. Being pregnant, it doesn't take much for me to get tired so will lay down when they are napping. I usually nap on the couch with a nice thick fluffy fleece blanket. Today, Hayden was fussy and I rocked him and fed him a bottle until he fell asleep, next thing I knew it was 2 hours later and I had fallen asleep. I usually get up around 6:30 each morning, partly from habit from during the school year but mostly because I have to go to the bathroom. Our bed room is upstairs and I have to go downstairs to use the restroom. But the last few nights I have fallen asleep sitting up with the computer on my lap, But I know I missed my nap yesterday.

I love naps and take them as often as I can!!

I've always had to nap around two or three o'clock but usually not for very long.

Lately I became so tired all the time and the doctor said my thyroid was low. He upped my synthroid and said I should start to notice a difference in a couple of weeks. I would get up, eat breakfast and within an hour I would HAVE to sleep for a couple of hours. I'd get up for lunch and then sleep hard for two to three hours. It's getting a little better now but I might have to take more medication. I HATE feeling like this.

Add me to the list of those that love naps! And, as someone else mentioned, it's probably because I don't get enough sleep at night. I am a night owl! I teach preschool half-day. When I get home, I can't wait to take a nap before my own kids get home from school. I actually sleep better during my naps than at night sometimes.

I hate taking naps but the older I get the more naps I take. Seems practically every time I sit in my comfortable chair I go to sleep, especially after dinner.I suppose diabetis might have something to do with that.

Love naps! Fell asleep in the Belligo Casino in Vages onetime! To make matters worse, when Eric woke me up- I had been SO asleep, I was drooling. I was so embarassed.

My 'ole body says I gotta take naps...long naps, usually 2 hours long naps. If I don't my body shuts down about 6 o'clock and I have to go to sleep. Never use to take even a 20 minute nap. My how the body changes with age.

I LOVE naps!! I work full time all week, so on the weekends the kids and my fiancee know that at some point mom will be enjoying a nice, long nap..lol When I was a SAHM I would nap w/the boys everyday! Sometimes on my lunch break, I go out into our conference room and set the alarm on my cell and take a nap!!

I love naps, especially on cool or cold gray days. It is hard for me to nap when the sun is shining brightly.

I like to take naps. When I was working, I would run home and take a 15-20 minute nap. Felt great! Once when I didn't go home, I decided to just lay my head on my desk in my cubical. Co-Workers woke me because I was snoring. LOL! I was embarrassed.

Now I hate to waste a day with a nap. Raining days....that's another story. Nap City.

I can hardly read 3 Chapters of a book without falling asleep. It is so frustrating.
