I recently begane a seller and sold a few collectibles on Ebay. My only ptroblem was on one sale, the buyer paid thru Paypal, and since it was over $100, Paypal wouldn't release the money to me for three weeks. They were "expecting" the buyer not to like the item. I was quite annoyed. By the way, he liked it and gave me good feedback. I do not like Paypal at all.

I've never had a problem with Paypal. I haven't heard about any new rules since I haven't bought or sold too much lately.

Paypal only, if you buy an item, don't like it money will be refunded by Ebay and you do not have to return the item. I do know that Paypal is the only payment accepted now.. but I really doubt that buyers could have their money refunded without returning the item. What if it were a really expensive item like a laptop or a rare antique something??

I used to love eBay but since the rule changes a year ago I rarely list anything anymore. I do a lot more on Craigslist these days.

Doesn't sound right to me. I think there has to be a very good reason for the buyer not to want the item ~ like not as described, wrong item ~ or something like this. I would think, also, that the buyer would have to return the item, then the money would be refunded to them.

There is no such "new rule".

I have not heard of such a rule. I know sometimes paypal allows returns even if the seller doesn't officially accept them, but that's different. And, I think in June, a new policy will be in place that forces sellers to have a set return policy and allow returns.

I also believe in some cases, ebay themselves may actually take the hit if a dispute is unresolved and it is not clear who's at fault. There are some things changing, but I "think" your friend's interpretation is probably wrong.
