My goofy girlfriend

You remember the story about my girlfriend getting stuck on the side of the highway reading a book in a boat with a flat tire on the boat trailer?

Well, she always has something going on in her life, usually side splitting hilarious.

She went yesterday to have and MRI on her shoulder. No biggie. She never carries a purse.

On her way home she stopped at a fast food place, and her credit card would not scan. It was early so they gave her food and told her they would try it again before she left.

I still did not work after lunch, so they told her to pay next time she came by. (thank goodness for small towns)

She stops to fill up, and again her card would not work.

She tried not just one credit card but 5 different ones, and her debit card, none would work. Luckily she had cash on her and paid for her gas.

In a panic she goes home and starts calling the credit card companies.

About the fourth call, a women asks her, Is there any way you may have de-magnetized your cards???

Lightbulb moment!!!

When she had her MRI she had put her cards in her pants pocket, and it ruined everyone of them including her drivers license.

Lesson learned.....never have an MRI with your ID and cards in your pocket.

She is such a card, gotta love her..

Anytime I've ever had an MRI they had me take everything out of my pockets, take off my watch/jewelry etc. and put them in a locker.

it would only really benefit if you were to have more females than males..because the males are hard on the females. I personally like to keep one male and one female. But if you can,,get 3 girls and you'll be fine. I lost my ducks to a fox last fall sadly,but this summer I rescued a male and female together..one was killed by a raccoon so now I'm on the hunt for another duck. I'm not sure yet which one I have because it's only about 12 weeks old. ok renaruto this may be a case in which you provided way too much info and details about your ex wife to your new girlfriend and now she is using that against you which imo is immature and only shows how insecure she really is, i only say that because this exact situation has happened to me before only thing different is that my son is 5 yo and is unable to keep a cell phone....women can be very good at hiding their true feelings about certain issues to get you to open up to them and disclose unnecessary information and due to their own insecurities will make you the bad guy when all you were doing from the get go is being totally honest ...i do believe that sometimes theres such a thing as being too honest...did you really have to tell your new gf that your ex wife still wants you?... by saying that you set your self up for constant drama and nagging everytime she contacts you whether it is important or not...any way the answer to your problem lies in your heart i made my decision to make my son a priority and had to break up with my previous gf the good thing was that i am now with a woman who understands and supports my decision to be a good father and doesnt question the communication between me and my sons mother it is truly a beautiful feeling to not feel like you have to choose sides between the ones you love if she really loves and respects you she will trust you and leave it all up to you to set boundaries with your ex wife without having to butt in...hope this advice is not too late

My responsibilities as Dad's Girlfriend

You are 100% right! While you have been more than accommodating in helping with his parental responsibilities, these are his and his ex's children, not yours. In a perfect world, all parenting would be done by him and his ex, leaving you to be find your place with them somewhere between a friend and a parent. But life is not perfect and of course in the real world, if you live with him, occasionally you will probably need to "fill-in" in a parental roll. But I think that should be it, filling-in in a pinch. Him and his ex should figure out a plan that does not rely on your help on a daily basis. My GF of five years and I have always been very aware of this (she has one son, I have daughter and son). Granted, we don't live together, since we didn't want to "blend" families, but when we are all together, we are very aware of who has the parenting responsibility for who. For example, discipline is not to be dished out by the step-parent or BF/GF....it should be the responsibility of the parent. Of course it's easier said than done, and it takes work to figure out how to handle certain situations, but it's the general idea that is important. He and his ex need to figure this out. Tell them you will be there to help out in a pinch, but they cannot rely on you to do their job on a daily basis.....ESPECIALLY if their girl is not nice to you when you are helping out!

I just had one a couple weeks ago. They gave me a locker and reminded me to empty my pockets, remove any jewelry etc.

LOL That would be me, too! I'm the fool that got into the hottub in Branson a few months ago - with a cellphone in my shorts' pocket.......

If this really happened then the fault lies with the hospital. When one has an MRI they tell the patient to empty their pockets. No jewelry can be worn. No cell phones in pockets. No credit cards. They even ask about any metal IN your body. Some places, just to be on the safe side have the patient wear a gown due to hidden snaps, hooks and zippers.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but someone told me that a cell phone can mess up credit cards. Does anyone know if that is so. I'm thinking not so, because I carry my credit cards in that beautiful little cell phone purse that Flamingo made.

My DD once forgot to remove a hair scrunchie. She had no idea it had metal in it. As she went into the unit her ponytail "bounced up" as she put it. LOL

she told me the only thing they required her to do was remove her shirt. Small town, and she may have been asked to remove objects, but,,,who knows?
