A great day went to a new to me nursery in Muskogee today and got about 10 new plants to plant an then those I got at lowes yesterday sooooo I am changing my clothes and going to play in the dirt! Stacy

Yes. All I have done today besides playing on the computer and watching HGTV was to shower. Now I am getting ready to go to the P.O. to stock up om forever stamps.

No i can't say that my day is very good,my back is killing me today,took a couple pain pills and they havn't even taken the edge off yet.I did go out and water and pulled a few weeds,trying to talk myself into not hurting.Didn't work!!!!

My day is just beginning here in NZ. It's not quite 8 am (Saturday) so I'm still in my PJ's & fighting Caddy for the best spot near the heater! It's COLD this morning - winter is nearly here :-(

Not many plans for the day apart from dropping DH at golf later this morning and then deciding what to cook for a family pot-luck dinner tonight.

I've had a good day. The Home where my sister Annie lives has some great volunteers. Last week one lovely lady brought in cards with inserts in them to send to residents female relatives inviting us to a Mother's Day tea today. She comes in once a month and at her own expense writes letters, makes out cards for birthdays, etc, so residents can send them to whoever they want to. Yesterday a wonderful local cake decorator (again all at her expense) brought out baked cakes, frosting, etc, and showed any interested resident how to decorate.....let them each make a flower on their hands. Today another local, an antique dealer, brought out old hats for each to wear, antique tea pots, various teas, plus entertained us.

These wonderful ladies are not a part of any organizations, just individuals giving of their time, talent, money, etc. I applaud each of them.

Several of Annie's sister showed up to 'celebrate'.

Just work, and taking the dogs for a walk so far. DH was off today, and he was VERY busy today. Tonight I may pull some weeds.

Yes, Stacy, it's good she has such people in her life. I neglected to say that the cakes they decorated on Thurs were our 'tea' cakes for today. They paid tribute to a couple of other women who often do things behind the scenes. The one makes those fringed blankets that a lot of you ladies do.. the activities director then wraps them up for birthday presents. I'm amazed at just how generous and kind some people are. And we don't hear enough about them, do we?

Haven't done quite as much as you, but I'm feeling pretty good about today.

Up early, went treasure hunting, fed the ducks and stopped at the grocery store. Transplated some hostas. Baked some oatmeal toffee cheesecake bars. Chatted with the next door neighbor. Mulched some of the garden. Laid out a quilt. Reduced the bore bee population by a baker's dozen (I've got one of those electric fly swatters that looks like a tennis racquet--it works on those dumb bees, too--LOL) Made BLT salads for dinner, have popovers in the oven.

Just waiting for DH to turn up. Haven't seen him in a few days--he's been back home, I've been down at the country house.

Maybe will do a little more mulching after dinner, but if I know DH, he's probably going to want to head to the WM supercenter (he does get on his little 'kicks', and that's been the lastest one).

I subbed for a PE teacher. So I wore shorts to the school and played outside. Not to bad. ;o) Also, there are 2 other PE teachers, so I didn't have to do much. I finished a book, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night.

Then it went downhill... I had kid behavior issues w/my 12 y/o DS. I'm not going there, but it involved a phone call from the school. Let's just say I have one less hockey game to attend this weekend. That oughta make him think twice next time he starts to make a stupid decision. I guess he thought he needed to leave an impression before he leaves the elementary for good in a couple weeks (moving to middle school).

Sue, I swear, you do more in a day than I accomplish in a week.
Today, I did take the oldest dog "Nibbles" in for a short summer cut. It has been 90 degrees plus the last couple of days and she was panting just being inside in the air conditioning, poor thing. Dropped her off, did a few dishes. dryed a load of laundry, and sat on my butt waiting to pick said dog up. They close at 6pm and had not called me yet, so I left to go get her. They were running late and she had another 1/2 hour to go, so I hit the Tuesday Morning store up the street and bought the cutest butterfly yard ornament for the yard. It's on springs and has marbles decorating it, so the grandkids will love it.
Said dog was ready for pick up, and I hauled her home. She is one happy camper!! Fed dogs and cat, now just waiting for dinner to cook. Nothing special here, rice and sausage and salad.

Have had a busy day today. Talked to hubby this morning ( he's down at our house down south). did the dishes, did a couple loads of laundry and got the house picked up. Then I went down to Indy to watch our new twins for the afternoon. Just got home a little while ago. Going to shower, get in bed and get ready for a busy day with our youngest daughter and grandaughter tomorrow..

Put a couple of chuck roasts in the crock pot, then will shred and freeze. Contacted my cousin regarding our Uncle in Santa Barbara and found out they have been evacuated. Hope all is well as he is in his 90's but DD and husband are with him. Got caught up on book work. Waiting to see when GD's friend funeral is. Diagnosed Monday with acute leukemia, emergency brain surgery, but did not make it. Only 21 years old and a twin. Such a great family and really nice girls She will be missed. Mopped the floor, after I spilt juice all over it and almost had to do it again. Played games on computer and now on email. Cold and expect below freezing tonight. Guess we will get spring someday.
