OT Broken Bones & Prayers

I took Brian to see doc today. Surgery is on Monday to insert a rod so he will have a walking cast. His job right now is to still keep it elevated to get more swelling down. Healing should be 6-8 weeks after surgery. All your prayers are helping. It could have been worse without the surgery. Brian is in good spirits in spite of everything. Thank you all for your prayers.

So good of you to update, you must be exhausted! He's very lucky and I hope things settle down for you so you can get ready for your cruise.

Hello Everyone, Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes for Susan. I went to see her tonight, The surgery went well and she is home. Is talking a little but it hurts a lot! Trying to swallow causes alot of pain. We talk on the phone about 4-5 times a week. Hope she gets better soon. I told her everyone here was wishing her a speedy recovery and sending hugs. I'm sure she will be online in a day or two. And well let everyone know how she's doing. Thanks again for the prayers she still has a ways to go, but she's a fighter! Hugs to all Dorothy

It's been a busy, busy day! Just let the 'babies' in for the night! Spent a little more fun time with 'Arrant!' Told him he has only to get through tonight & tomorrow & then it will be time to see the Dr. I don't think he's too happy - growled! lol! Gets his bath tomorrow, brushed, & his nails trimmed. He'll be ready! Me - I'm just trying to stay in the 'positive' mode! :)) Thanks for the prayers & comments everyone!! I appreciate them very, very much! Made my evening (or should I say 1:58 am) seem a little better! Thank you!! You guys/gals are TOPS! Nephew's doing better! He'll be seeing the family Dr. on Monday as well! A busy day Monday! I'm also taking a vacation day Monday - not sure what to expect?? I hope all goes well! Everyone - give your fur-babies, cats, kittens, birds, reptiles, whatever the case may be (even tropical fish!!) - a HUGE & very tight hug!! That is great! When I was 16 I had a double fractured femur (among other injuries). I asked my "very funny" Doctor if I'd be able to Surf again. He said "Oh heck yeh, you'll bend that leg before you break it again." Gayle

Oh, dear. How frightening for everyone who loves them. How did the surgery go this morning? This is one of those areas where medical science has made great strides--and it's so fortunate they're not paralyzed. Healing thoughts coming your way.

Thanks for the update Nanci, it sounds better than I feared, at least he'll be able to have a walking cast, that's gotta be a plus, right?LOL

Congratulations to still not smoking, I'm sure it's been a very trying past few days.

UPDATE.....Surgery was changed to in the morning the Doctor had surgery at the other hospital today. Brian is hanging in there been threw lots of pain meds this past week. I have kept the baby alot since my daughter works evening hours at the end of the week. We have to be there at 7am in the morning. Keep us in your prayers. I will let ya know more tmorrow afternoon.
