I got to the post office today and there were no less than a couple hundred people. I will take an earlier bus tomorrow morning and go to the PO when they open at 6:30. So Shambo and all others should get their rice Saturday. Lou - no need to send me anthing. I found a package of goodies on my steps today that came from you! That will be a seperate thread. This was really fun! And Joshua did a great job picking a good mix of folks. A couple have never had the rice, some people I know, one I've never heard of! I was very happy to be able to share rice this year. I've never seen a crop like this, and I don't expect I ever will again. There have been years I have ordered rice from Deer River, Minnesota when our crop was slim. I ordered 30 lbs of rice from the guy a couple weeks ago for a friend who was coming to town for Thanksgiving. The shipping to my house was cheaper than shipping it to Texas. I had plans to meet this friend for drinks and I handed off the rice then. If anyone wants the name of that place, let me know. There are several rice sellers in Deer River, but only one has hand harvested lake rice. Teresa

Hi, Cathy, I am also sending in some entries to this lotto. Sorry - thought I had written before. I will try to send three. Since I am mailing from Nova Scotia, I feel I should make it worthwhile LOL. I finished the first one tonight - my first paper piecing!! And it turned out okay though it did take a long time. I will get the other two done and in the mail to you by May 20th. This is "the long week-end" in Canada - the Monday on or before May 24th is a holiday to commemorate the Queen's birthday. In Nova Scotia everyone heads to the cottage to "open her up". Lately this has become known as the May 2-4 week-end - LOL. With company and all I don't get much sewing done. Thanks for hosting this lotto and for giving me a reason to try paper piecing. goldie

I did the Craftsy leaf pattern following Lois example. I may try another pattern as well, this pattern was lots of pieces, but the end result works. Congrats Kate ~ I wasn't able to participate in this Lotto - health/life issues got in the way, but I am so glad you won! PP is great - I am in love with it and hope to get better and better at it, as I know you will too. When I first started visiting the Quilting Forum, I think it was your post encouraging newbies to join in the Lottos for the experience. I have and you were so right! After a couple of years of participation, you especially deserved to be be the lucky winner! I am sure you have visions of beaded PP trees swirling in your head today!
