Two-dimensional pictures don't always work well to represent a real-world 3-D world, so that may be an issue. But, the line Toronado drew would leave FAR too much of a stub. At the very bottom of the limb, the blue line appears to be very near the branch collar. However, the remainder of the blue line is way, way off. Since the branch bark ridge seems to be mostly included into the bark, one should make a pruning cut that is as close as possible to the trunk, at the top of the branch, without unnecessarily damaging the bark. Then, the cut should follow down and terminate near the location (at the bottom) of the blue line. In the middle, in the real, 3-D world, the cut will be way closer to the trunk than the line shows. In other words, the blue straight line doesn't really represent a 3-D straight cut in the 2-D picture.

The bid I got last year was 1976.40 per set and I need two sets! - one for the bathroom and one for the bedroom. The estimates from the Big Box boys are running 450-600 per set. Of course that's without the beautiful wood trims and lattices but I figure I can live with it or fake it for that kind of price difference. Mac

Teresa, I remember reading about Carl's Friends a while back and even thought about buying some of the starter. On the pizza forum, I started using the Lehman (sp?)pizza dough recipe or the Same Day pizza dough and I am hooked. I make pizza at least once a week, mainly to do away with a meat dish at least for that day. We love pizza here and it is always a request when my kids come home. Although I grow my own tomatoes and make the sauce from scratch, after lurking on the Pizza Forum, I found the that I will now buy the Muir Glen tomatoes to keep on hand if we should run out of home grown. They are really good canned tomatoes and especially good for pizza. Laura, politics.....law!! Arghh! Hate both and I am sorry to say that, but it is a personal feeling. Somehow when I think of either of them, I think of people arguing all the time. I also don't think I would trust a politician or lawyer as far as I can throw them, LOL!

At my last job, I had a resident who lives in her own apartment, does all her own housework and shopping, will be 95 years old - she still drives, is active in the Red Hatters Club, crochets, knits and sells baby items to supplement her social security check. She also has a small alterations business, and keeps busy altering the garments of the other residents who gain or lose weight! LOL She is funny, happy, healthy, weighs about 85 pounds, stands about 5', and is a real spit fire - everyone loves being in her company. She is an example of how it is 'supposed' to be. She has never smoked a cigarette nor drank alcohol, but loves sweets. She is an excellent cook, who cooks for everyone in the building! Again, I think it's good genetic makeup that makes this little lady keep going! She credits her quality of life with good genes, having lots of love in her heart, not judging others, not having a temper, not rushing to do anything and living 25 years in the clean air of Alaska! I had another resident who lived in her own apartment, in our facility, until she was 102. She continued to be active, but fell over a throw rug, and ended up in assisted living. She died at the age of 103. She always said she lived so long because she tried to be nice to people and lived a god-fearing life. She also said it could be genetic - her son is nearly 80! If you have any stories of friends who lived a long life, share them - it gives the rest of us inspiration!
