Help me find a quartz countertop please!
Comments (4)Gorgeous tile! When we renovated our kitchen, we investigated a lot of quartz brands, and finally chose Silestone. We were very happy with the results... The product, the installation and the customer service were all exemplary. And they have a gazillion color choices. Here they are: Here is a link that might be useful: Silestone color choices...See Morequartz countertops
Comments (6)Yes I have Cambria Sutton and I love it. I have it on my counters and island with cooktop and a second tier for seating. Everyone who sees it likes it very much. I was also concerned with the look from the sample but it turned out great. My kitchen is not formal. Cabinets are shaker with dark hardware and small subway tiles in beige/khaki shades. Sort of old looking. Only person who did not like the Sutton was the backsplash installer. He also sells and installs granite, marble and other stone. His worker asked what the counter was and he replied "plastic" and couldn't understand why I wouldn't go with granite or other stone for the price....See MoreQuartz countertop scratches
Comments (18)I am a fabricator. From a previous post: "Cambria is durable and more resistant to surface damage than other stone. " This quote is doubly inaccurate. 1st; Cambria (or any other quartz product) is not stone but an engineered material made of petrochemical based resins and various inclusions such a quartz chips, glass, and other materials picked for their esthetic value. 2nd: The resin component, which is the matrix holding the various inclusions, is very soft relative to typical stone countertop materials and it is usually the resin that is scratched. A scratched quartz top is much more of a problem to repair than most natural stone tops because it is very difficult to restore the factory polish on quartz. (It's no picnic on natural stone either but a decent stone fabricator can usually do it. As Joe commented it takes a lot more talent to achieve the same thing on quartz.)...See MoreDoes anyone have experience with Enigma quartz countertops?
Comments (195)The Engima Valley counter is absolutely beautiful, but I would NEVER install it again. I've only had it installed for a month and I already have two big chips in the island. I keep my house immaculate, including wiping down the counters every time I cook to ensure it isn't damaged by red sauce or acidity from lemons. I already have light stains forming on the island. I have marble in my bathrooms that's holding up better than the Enigma quartz. I reached out to Enigma for help filling in the chips. They redirected my email to the store I purchased the stone from who then redirected me to my fabricator for help filling them in. Really disappointed all around, especially since it was $5700 for one slab and fabrication/install....See Moreainelane
