ok some of those just scared me! Did you SEE Mark Jacobs??? he had on white boxer shorts a full length see through black lace shirt and black pilgrim shoes with black socks. WTH was he smoking!

I just don't know how they can go out of the house in some of those outfits, why doesn't someone tell them they look ridiculous.

I agree that some of them were awful but I liked an awful lot of them too.

I can't imagine wearing those black pants with the dropped crotch...what a nightmare......

It will be fun watching the Fashion Police Friday night.

Ruthie, are you referring to Alicia Keyes? I love her music, but that outfit looked as though she had a sagging diaper under those pants.

For the most part I thought they were pretty horrible. I did like Renee' Zellweger's, Hillary Swank's, the gal from Modern Family and a few others. Thanks for posting the pictures. Like them or not, it was fun to see them.

I agree, Alisande. Depends were part of her ensemble.

I think the long, lace overdress is ruined by the micro-mini liners or under skirt. Lots of strange stuff here. Loved a few, including the dress on the English gal who plays Mary in Downton Abbey. Very classy.

I had fun looking at the pictures. I thought many of the outfits were unattractive, but some looked nice. I swear, though, every time I see Gwyneth Paltrow, I want to tell her to stand up straight and quit slouching.

I think that there were quite a few who looked beautiful. However Mary Kate Olsen looked absolutely scary!! Marc Jacobs, Beyonce and Kristen Stewart were runners up.

I think Cameron Diaz, Hilary Swank and Leslie Bibb looked lovely, the rest of the ladies, not so much. As for Marc Jabobs, he must have confused the Gala with a Halloween Party. :o)

Too many tiers and flounces. Too much peek a boo stuff and some were downright skeevy. Lots of them looked like cheap pleather and I'm sure they cost and arm and a leg. That 80's hip curtain looks awful on everyone.

Jessica Alba (I'm not even sure who she is LOL) looked very put together in her gold dress. Very tasteful and pretty. I give her best of show in this dog and pony show. LOL

Those are the ones I thought were the worst. I thought the majority looked good or o.k. some were eh, but the ones I listed above, IMHO, should have stayed home.

Without going through the pics again, I can say one of the ones I liked least was Kristen Stewart's outfit by Balenciaga. The Balenciaga of my childhood created the most elegant, haute couture ball gowns. Kristen Stewart's short dress was something else entirely. And those shoes!

I was hoping to see what Chelsea Clinton wore. Some of these dresses looked like the designers tried their best to make something very ugly. A few of the dresses were truly beautiful.

I saw Chelsea very briefly on TV. She looked gorgeous in red strapless. I didn't see the bottom half, but the top looked great.

I really like Chelsea's gown, but it's unfortunate to 'match the carpet'.

Some of the 'ugly' here is due to poor photography. Some of the dresses are ugly too, but in many cases the women wearing them don't know how to move or pose gracefully. They stand like cows -- two feet *planted* on the floor; heads thrust forward; gaping expressions.

Michelle Dockery ("Lady Mary" in "Downton") looks fine, but the photo fails to show her as well as we have all seen her in the series. (IMO Dockery deserved a nomination for best acress, for capturing the changes and growth of her character. The nominees -- Ma, Pa, and Grandma -- were all caricture roles.)

Some of those were downright scary. A couple looked like prarie dresses. I really don't want to see that style back. A lot of thes looked liked fashion flops of the past brought back for another run.

Wow. I went through the first couple and thought "Alisande is being too tough. OK, Beyonce, you are beautiful, but that was poor judgement, Paltrow, that dress does nothing for you, but I'm OK with that" but then the costume party really started. The few beautiful dresses really do stand out because the rest are a crazy parade.

That red gown Chelsea wore was very pretty and flattering.

I agree that Balenciaga color block disaster was not something I would have ever associated with that name. It was so bad.

Alisande, you're right. Kristin Stewart's was a train wreck also. Ugh, nothing pretty about it whatsoever.
