Small Bathroom Help 6'6'' x 5'. Convert Bedroom to Bathroom?
Comments (17)You are going to want more than 32" for the toilet. 36" is standard (and perhaps even code in some areas???? Not here in Maine but I heard people saying that on other forums...) We have 34" and it feels fine but I dont think I'd want to go much tighter. You could solve that simply by flipping the closet and shower. So, have your shower -rotated 90 degrees and witha glass end wall- at the end of the tub (which is a nice setup you can see in many bathrooms, the tub deck can actually protrude under the shower glass wall and be a ledge or seat in the shower). Then the passageway moves to the left, and you can steal a bit of space from the other closet for the toilet. Either that of have a shorter vanity. 48" isn't a size I'd fight for. It's too short for a double vanity, really (unless you're using one of the new two-faucet 'trough" styles) so why not go down to 42" and have a better toilet area? For resale, though, you should consider a double vanity. Some people I guess expert truly huge ones, like at least 5+' long. But you CAN get smaller ones, Ikea has some great ones for tight spaces. But if you're not selling anytime soon, do what YOU like!! (But I still think you'll want more toilet space...)...See More5x7 full bath too small?
Comments (24)I doubt they would stay for extended time in the US when they have severe health problems. It is not financially possible for a non US citizen to stay here and use the medical services by paying out of pocket. So for what the OP is asking - a small bath for non-stair climbing guests is definitely doable. I am sure your parents would not be complaining for the few months they are here when they have the chance to spend time with you and your family. You are being very shortsighted. Just because someone has some mobility issues doesn't mean they can't travel. My aunt used a walker for the last 18 months of her life, yet still managed to go anywhere she wanted by walking and using public transportation in NYC. A walker still requires more space to maneuver. Are you saying that the OP's parents won't be able to visit if they have a walker or a motorized scooter?...See MoreBedrooom Narrow Walk in Closet 45" W X 50" D X 102" H - Need help
Comments (15)Ok... I just checked and measured etc... I can triple hang on the back wall there is enough room... no long dress but shirts, sweaters etc... Starting from 1 inch from the ceiling and using a pull-down bar as per latifolia's suggestion... and next one down moves back about 5 inches and adjust the height... I can then put shelves or I am thinking the third rod right below it. Now then the front rod can be removed or adjusted and can see what I can do next... I can get rid of that large canvas holdall and use baskets on my side of the wall... I can go as wide as 10 inches..... and either put a half rod in front I really don't want to double hang in the front....See MoreDoes anyone have any photos of their 5 x 7 closet?
Comments (11)5'2" is too narrow for hanging clothes on both sides. With a minimum depth of 24" for hanging clothes, you'd only have a 14" pathway down the middle. You need a minimum of 30" for a pathway, with 36" being just right. For double rods, it needs to be 6.5' minimum width for a 30" walkway or 7' for 36" walkway. https://www.dimensions.com/element/single-sided-walk-in-closets https://www.dimensions.com/element/wrap-around-walk-in-closets http://starcraftcustombuilders.com/closet.htm If you keep the current layout, shift the door over or it will brush up against what's hanging near the entrance....See Morespitfire_01
