VJ, I wanted to post a couple of links to Anchor Bay's colors. You can order samples for $2 apiece ($10 shipping, regardless of number). They're all handmade tiles; some are crackled, some are beveled, some are 2x4, some are 3x6, and some lines come in more colors than others. They're great for me since I'm hours from a real tile showroom. It's fun to look at Ann Sacks' website, for example, but I have no way to actually order any of that stuff. I love that this is a direct order site. Anyway - I think you're wise to make a reasonable effort to get the two whites to go together (like not putting a cool one against a warm one if you can help it), but like Mary said upthread, it's not even possible to match all your whites and you'll drive yourself bonkers if you try. I know our fireclay sink is a different white than our tile and cabs, but at some point, I have to say that white is white and that's good enough for me. ;o)

I appreciate your opinion! paint is hard!! as far as my kitchen goes, I'm planning navy perimeter cabinets with white tops. the backsplash is white subway with dark charcoal grout. there will be a stained open shelf along the main wall surrounding the vent hood. so no upper cabs. I can include a picture, cabinets installed next week. thanks for advice!!

We used Maipei "Frost." It's a very, very light gray, but IMO it "reads" as white. It provides a teeny tiny bit of contrast from the subway tile so that you can see the edges/pattern of the tile. But it's not dark at all. My problem with white is that to my eye, it appears slightly yellow. When we were re-tiling 3 upstairs bathrooms this Spring, I made the mistake of choosing white for 1 bathroom, and after it was done, I immediately changed to Frost for the other 2. The Frost looks a lot better. You can have your tile pro make you a sample board to confirm your choice.

Amy Glasscock, yes, I have samples of both, and I can go to Lowe's today and get whatever they have. Do you know if the Daltile told by tile stores and the Daltile sold by Lowes or Home Depot are different? I know many products are a different quality in HD/Lowes but though tile would be the same but maybe not. Becky H, the Cloe is beautiful as is your quartz, I'm sure your kitchen will be beautiful. BeverlyFLADeziner, I had known that at one point but had forgotten so thank you for reminding me. Lyn Nielson, good advice about the dye lot, I will do that. I'm kind of dreading those things that I don't notice now but will eventually and once I see it, I can't unsee it and it will bug me! Thank you all for taking the time to reply.
