RECIPE: Some you win, some you lose, and some.....

you break even.

This is a sort of break even deal. I needed a celeraic recipe for a project, and found this in my to-try file:

Pigeon Breast on a Celeraic Rosti with a Blackberry Sauce.

I figured to try it using quail, if I could find any locally. If not, game hens would do. It's an Australian recipe, so the first step was to convert all the metric stuff into real numbers. Then decide which way to round them off. For instance, 2.82 oz of butter was easy. But which way do you go with 4.41 oz of blackberries?

At any rate, the game hens turned out good; albiet requiring more work than necessary for most people. The rosti wasn't worth the bother. The sauce needed serious adapting to make it work. But the finished product was worthwhile.

So, if anyone actually wants the recipes I'll post them. But, frankly, this one isn't likely to be made a second time.
