LOL Susan....I have become addicted to watching Forensic Files and programs dealing with solving crime with Forensic's and will watch til 3 in the morning crazy I know and i wonder why I am tired all day after getting up??? Duh how stupid to get sooo addicted to something...I am trying to wean myself off of them Brian said he is going to move the tv out of our bedroom! That would do it....Stacy

Oh Susan, I agree completely. We have a 35 year old TV which works perfectly. We enjoyed watching the Animal Channel, Discovery, PBS, the three "major" networks and car races and bull riding on a sports channel (ESPN, I think.)
Well, those days are gone. NBC is gone; we get ABC and CBS, the local PBS station, something called "Create" which is a hoot, and Telemundo. Whoopee. If we had been big TV fans we would be livid. As it is, we listen to PBR for news, occasionally watch something on PBS, and generally just sit on the patio of an evening and listen to the cattle mooing.
We should all thank Congress and the FCC for weaning us from our TV habit.

Yep, on my digital channels, I never get CBS in, and PBS goes in and out which infuriates me because that's the station I watch the most. I thought digital was supposed to be better...yes it comes in clearer, but that's only if the channel works! Lately I've been watching the regular antenna channels instead of the digital because although the picture is much worse, at least it stays on instead of going in and out constantly.

LOL...Do you like to read, Susan? DH and I like to read. We are on satellite, and NEVER watch t.v. that much. DH threatens to cancel our satellite subscription, but I tell him "wait, wait, I'll start watching it", but I never do. LOL. I just LOVE my books. I affectionally tell my friends that travel that I travel too~~~ I have been to Russia as a spy, the Congo on a Safari, an archelolgist in Egypt, in the mideast on a cia covert mission, hidden slaves in my home during the civil war, been in the revolutionary war fightin'- in 3 feet of snow with hypothermia, why I have been Scarlet in a tissy and NOW I DO know something about birthing those babies!!(with long southern eyelashes slapping my "scarlet" cheeks). My adventures only exist in my books and in my imagination.:)

Hummer, yes, I love to read. I also love to write, which takes up some of my time. And I do freelance work at home. Plus I admit to an Internet addiction. :-)

Interesting to note that I'm not the only one who lost network channels. I wonder what they're doing wrong.....?

I do not own a television and do not care to.

But, my mother is an avid TV watcher who wasted money on a converter box, and now cannot get in the stations she used to watch. she asked me to help out and take a look at the set-up. From what she says they were coming in OK and then they disappeared. I figured she pushed am A/B switch or something by mistake, or a coaxial cable came loose, but no. And then my brother checked it out and says everything is hooked up just the way it was, and is suppose to be hooked up. The stations just stopped coming in.

I never thought about the 'leaves on the trees' issue. I hope they do not have to blow money on a more powerful antennae now. What a rip-off.

Dilly, I doubt a more powerful antenna will help. For one thing, mine--as I mentioned--is large and powerful, and mounted far above my two-story house. Also, when I lost NBC as soon as they switched to digital, I emailed the local affiliate's Chief Engineer. He said the problem was caused by the fact that the station's signal is too strong, and in order to correct it I'd have to buy another piece of equipment. I wasn't interested in that.

Of course, tree leaves have nothing to do with a too-strong signal. It's all rather......confusing? Annoying? Difficult to sort out? Take your pick. :-)

I don't watch TV unless there is a good movie on. I have over 200 movies in my collection and I watch them over and over and that is better than TV any day. I especially like the series Stargate SG1.
