Would you take some bathrooms out to increase storage?
Comments (20)Pirula...I can almost bet that the answer to your question is NO LOL And the same for 80's horrific bathrooms with tile, lots of grout, colored sinks and toilets as well as oak cabs. Bleh. The addition of the bathrooms for all of the bedrooms was actually done really well. None are shared and each has at least a shower if not a bath and shower. I could see if it ever did become a B&B again that keeping the one in the wine room would make sense (plus the whole issue of the trip through the kids room to get to the other one now if ya'll have tasted too much wine). But the other on the top floor...it's actually an extra (3 bedrooms on the floor and four full baths). I actually dreamed of a stackable last night after hauling laundry down to the basement yesterday LOL The master suite remodel will probably ruin that half of the 2nd floor for B&B use unless they charge a chit load for the suite LOL But really we don't expect to move and we want a well apointed suite. It's two bedrooms with two baths now and a huge 8x8 foot space between that's empty (probably a skelaton or two....) It used to be one big room with a dressing room and bathroom (I wish we had all of the fixtures...it was written up in the paper at the time). We're going to put it all back as best as we can figure out. Any future B&B user can just figure it out later LOL Funky....I'll mail you a key...Send DH over when he gets grumpy. We'll let him spend the day showering in all remaining bathrooms til he's had his fill :oP...See MoreSelling Weedy Acres...staging the guest bathroom
Comments (24)I think it's an asset that the J&J bath also uses green! You have a flow. Most stagers are big advocates of the idea that "CLEAN SELLS." Whatever you choose, as busybee noted, keep that sparkle & shine you have going! Sending Best wishes toward your efforts at staging Weedy Acres, and ultimately at selling it!...See MoreRemodel Bathrooms or Leave as Is
Comments (21)Sure, but a basic enameled steel tub is cheap because its Cheap. My probably yellow and black and or cerulean blue bathrooms were replaced with bottom of the line enameled steel tubs and plastic shower bases and the lowest of low Delta fixtures (Chrome plated plastic mostly, not their better stuff), and toilets made in Mexico that have to be flushed five times when no one in the household has Ever had a problem clearing a toilet before. The one "high end" item is a Kohler Memoirs sink, and it has to be a second because it's almost brand new and the inside is crazed like crackle tile. So sure, they are white, they have subway tile, and they look up to date, but they are overall very unpleasant because you can feel the stuff wearing out as you use it. I am going to beat a dead horse here, but I think if you update bathrooms with cheap materials just to sell you are potentially pulling a fast one on the buyer. I knew the bathrooms in this house were complete c rap when I made the offer, but you would be surprised at the people who are shocked that I am already gutting them because they "looked so nice". On the surface, at a glance, yes--but in no other way are they nice bathrooms. If this had been the typical buyer who knows little about construction and isn't in a design field, and is buying at the top of their abilities, (which describes a very large group of people), you are presenting a picture to them that says they don't have to worry about budgeting for new bathrooms because they are brand new. And this, I think, can be essentially dishonest if the bathroom was flipped at the lowest possible cost, for esthetic purposes, for the market only....See Moreplease help me take my bathroom to the next level!!
Comments (9)On my screen, I cannot tell what color the shower tiles are. Are they a warmer beige-y? If so, I wouldn't go with a cool-toned counter. I understand you are on a budget. If that were my bathroom, I'd do what you're doing. Leave the tiled shower (which has some color to it--can't tell if warm or cool), but get a countertop that works with it. I would do neutral. For myself, I'd probably choose white Corian, if that works with the tile colors. Paint the cabinet. Nice touch to raise it up. Instead of those little gray rugs, I'd purchase a rug with color in it (maybe a runner). I do not see any disadvantage in having a skylight in your bathroom, and it seems like a nice-sized room to me. I am unsure why people are telling you to rip out a nice-looking shower. Finally, with lighter colors, I'd paint those mirrors something else. They look black on my screen....See MoreRelated Professionals
