It's been a rainy, dreary week here in my part of Ohio. And today is no exception. They had first predicted we'd have some sun today, but alas, it isn't happening.

So what's it like where you are? Would you please add at least a general area.

I know you miss the sun when it has been gloomy for a while, so I'll try to send you some of ours. We are suffering a heat wave in CA, 91 today is a little cooler. Drought, water shortage and temps in the 90's isn't a good combination.

Hang in there, Gadgets, your springy, sunny days will come!

It's supposed to be sunny and in the low 80's here today in southern California. The last few days have been uncomfortably hot, especially for those of us who don't use air conditioning. I need May Gray to kick in, please, and cool us down.

Here is a picture. Here is an picture. And another after picture of a future . This is what I have been doing over the past couple of days. This is our side yard that I had been neglecting. Since it's the first thing you see of our house when you turn onto our drive, I thought I had better get it into better shape. My "soil" is limestone and rock so raised beds are, by far, the most logical choice. The beds closest to the camera will be mostly ornamentals and annuals and perennials. The ones farthest away will be primarily vegetable beds. The bed under the crape myrtle will be a fragrance bed. It is located to the left of me as I stood to take the other pics. Over the spring and summer of this year, I will also be working to cover the paths with cardboard, feed sacks and newspapers. Then I will top that off with some kind of mulch. Probably loose hay and alfalfa since we have 7 horses and an abundance of those items :). I hope I can post a pic later this year of those beds full of lush and thriving plants. I think I must go and shamelessly beg for seeds on the seed exchange :). Any suggestions for things that will thrive in my area will be much appreciated. I'll need all the help I can get to fill these beds up! It's bitter cold and freezing rain and drizzle here right now :(. Kristi

Sunny and around 64 right now. Housecleaning must be the order of the day. I've cleaned the living room, Florida room, kitchen and guest bedroom. Tomorrow I'll do our bedroom and the 2 baths and screened porch. That leaves the dreaded garage--which I hate to clean! One thing I do love is my Haan steam cleaner. No more backaches!

Here in Ohio the weather seems to be doing the opposite of what the weather man predicts. If they say sunny, it's cloudy, if it's supposed to be cloudy...um well it usually is cloudy then too. It's basically cloudy here ALL THE TIME! Today was supposed to be a gorgeous cloud free day and it's solid overcast...yesterday was the same thing...solid clouds but was supposed to be a glorious day...NOT!

Currently sunny here near London, ON and has begun snowing in the past half hour. Temp. 18 degrees (-7 C.) Wind from the west at about 10 m.p.h.?? (15 km.?) ... but it feels cold: not sure of wind chill factor. Payday today: the two gov't. pension cheques arrived in the mailbox (slightly earlier than usual in Dec., before Christmas). Expecting more snow - they've been assuring us that we'll be having a white Christmas. It appears that this old (whatever) hasn't acclimatized to the season yet, as last evening after dark, en route home along what used to be a rural boundary road between two municipalities, I had a choice of travelling down what's a highway for about three miles, then along a fairly active rural road, or continuing along the boundary road, rather lightly travelled, for a fairly short distance, then along a fairly well used road, which was slightly closer. The snow plough was coming to meet me along the boundary road, which I chose ... and, keeping to the right to give him space ... ... I ran into a snowbank, about 100 feet from the corner ... and got stuck. The snowplough driver did his thing, clearing out the corner, waiting for traffic on the highway, then drove past me, stopped, dropped the wing that throws the snow far from the road, about 4 feet in front of my car ... ... and took off down the road, ploughing the snow. I had got out my shovel and dug some snow, this couch potato not appreciating the wind and the cold, and a guy in a red truck that had been waiting for the plo-ugh! offered to dig out his tow rope and give me a tow ... which offer I accepted with alacrity. It was a quick and easy tow to get me out, and I went my way. My neighbour agreed that my choice of road had not been the best ... ... and we agreed that it was probably due to the place where I got stuck being part of the city that caused me not to get help from the operator of the plough ... ...that had it been a county/rural plough operator, very likely he'd have hitched a chain on to my car and hauled me out. As I said on another thread this morning, "Too soon old - too late smart". During the time that I've been writing this message - the sun has disappeared, and snow is continuing, though a bit lighter at the moment. Looking rather ominous outside and we have an outdoor memorial service this morning. I think I just saw a few snowflakes flutter by.

We just had 4 lovely, warm days in a row and today it's raining hard on the Washington coast. I'm not going to get to work on my outside projects at all, it will probably be a 'watch the Derby' and putter at organizing my garage kind of day.

It's too bad that those of you with too much sun and not enough rain and those of us with not enough sun and too much rain couldn't share weather. lol

It is a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and a little breeze.
Currently 80 and climbing.
We are headed to the big Crawfish festival for fun, music, and of course tons and tons of crawfish and every other kind of food one could want. It will be a wonderful day for the festival.

That is what is happening here in North Houston.

Also beautiful next door here in Georgia. Around 72 today and sunny. My great niece had her first communion today and we went to the church and reception at her paternal grandparents. So nice with all the families together. I watched her from when she was a newborn to 2 years old. What a joy she was and is. She has special names for my husband and me.

Beautiful day here in Iowa, in the mid 70s. My next door neighbor and I both mowed our lawns today. I heard other mowers going in the neighborhood. We had had 4 days of rain earlier in the week. This was our first lawn mowing this spring.

It was beautiful on the NC coast yesterday. Clear, sunny and around 80. We spent most of the day outside.

Sunday and another really beautiful day here in North Houston. Blue skies, sunshine and a very light breeze. Temp currently 83 but hot in the sun!
Going out to get groceries and come back to work on the flower beds.

Warm with some crazy wind gusts.....the wind feels like we are at the ocean!

Spent a couple hours at the dirt mall. Had a great time. What a place to people watch!

Caught up with an artist friend who makes zombie gnomes. He's collaborating with a copper artist to have them bronzed (?) in copper....they are AMAZING! He's asked us to take the photos for his promo for them! Very excited! This guy is going places!

It has been a picture perfect day here in Georgia today, Sunday. 84 degrees, blue sky, white fluffy clouds, abundant sunshine and gentle breeze. I wish "every" day could be like today all year round.

We got rain last night so the snow is all gone, washed away! yay! For now. This being Calgary, it can snow in all 12 months of the year. So we don't hold our breath.

Couple inches of snow yesterday, some sun (kind of) today and rain tonight and may some thunder--I would be surprise if it did, no wind and icky weather all week until Fri then S/S rain--maybe
