She's got a lot of hair and it keeps her cool to lie in it. Behind them, is one lone Delphinium from last year. I had to throw a patch of onions next to them to keep my dear Nikki from laying there until I can figure out what to put next to the Delph-- And this morning and afternoon, I started working on the front bed that DH fenced in for me: Lupine "Band of Nobles" Lupine "Minarette Mix" Snow-in-Summer More English Wallflower (I got enough of it to make up for two years of no germination! :-) I'm really getting excited about having so many plants, and having perennials from last year. I don't know if I'll ever get over how amazing WSing is. Four years ago, if someone told me I'd be digging in the dirt and growing things that lived, I would not have believed them. Linda

Sorry it has taken me a while to get back and check in. I was out of town for work and just got home. Thanks so much everyone for the compliments. It makes me feel good, I must admit. I always seem to see what needs to be done, and sometimes forget to look at what it is! I will try to answer everyone's questions. Hope I don't miss any. In no particular order... The lilies in the "big" picture are almost all daylilies. The lilies in the close-up pictures I am not sure. Just some bulbs I picked up, probably at a big box store or the local garden center? Sorry I don't have their names. The rose pictured in the 4th picture is Morden Belle. There are actually 3 bushes planted in that bed. I hope that is the rose you meant? Yes, I do have the courtyard of roses and yes they are blooming. However, many of the roses on the fence were taken down this year due to RRD. I have planted bittersweet in their place. Won't be the beautiful flowers, but will provide privacy that won't get RRD. As you can see from the picture below, the fence is now pretty bare looking on the side. I have decided that I will try to keep the roses on the fence across the end and around the corner. The need for privacy there is not so great, as the Wine and Roses weigela in the island bed does screen most of the garden from that end. Again, thank you everyone! Debra: LTA is new this year so I don't know and these are the FFO's. I got it for the applique pattern it has. Want to try it with a few others to see what develops. BLUE EYED BUTTERFLY is very stunning and the blooms are always fantastic. A keeper for sure. Nancy: This is the second seedling bed I've done and the ones planted last year in a backyard holding bed need to get moved at the end of the season to their new home. I wonder if I'll have the energy to actually do it LOL. CERISE MASTERPIECE took me by surprise as I thought it wouldn't open with the cooler morning we had yesterday. WILD SUMMER WIND is just a fantastic orange color for an early/mid bloom. One similar is SOMBRERO WAY which is a late bloomer so now I will always have some bright orange in the garden during bloom season. Thank you all for the comments. Julia

Thanks everyone. I love every one of these, because in case anyone hasn't noticed performance is the most important feature for me. I just took 13 scapes off Stella's Ruffled Fingers and it still has more than that left.
