A big GREEN thank you

WOW WOW WOW

All the wonderful things y'all have said about my work. Not just about the "green" challenge but ever since I've been here. It's all of you that keep me going. It's all of you that inspire me to keep taking these crazy ideas outta my head and turn them into a finished project. As those of you who have received blocks from me already know..some of those ideas tend to be far from normal. Anybody remember the "sinking sailboat"? geeeesh!

If it wasn't for the people here at this forum most of my stuff would be rolled up and stuck in a drawer. Even the green piece. It took me all day to work up the courage to punch the send button...but I figured y'all would understand! aaaah..sisterhood..it's a wonderful thing

I would like to thank Marti for coming up with such a wonderful inventive idea and for hosting the challenge.

I would like to thank all who entered the challenge with their beautiful work...really really stiff competition ladies!!!

And a special thanks to those who voted for me!! Wow! I won! First time in my life I ever won anything!!Holy COW!!!!!!

So what'd I win huh huh..gee I hope it's a new Mustang..red plz.......or well okay..green would be good too;)

I LOVED the sinking sail boat! LOL They were all great but yours struck a cord with me.

Linda, you will get to see pics...eventually. My DH bought a digital camera for our trip to China in January, but my son-in-law made some updates to our computer and forgot to re-configure the new disk which I had him instal last summer. Consequently, I do not even have enough space to apply all the Explorer updates, much less the camera software and the pics. Right now, my focus is the garden, still making more instant beds, but I hope to eventually share some of the pics. from a Botanical Garden in China and some of my WS blooms. Roslyn.

I'm actually really loving your happy hearts!! What a great photo! I bought the blue mouse ears because my landscaper friend who helped me redesign the front garden, recommended I get some miniature hostas to place around the rock and the tree. He suggested blue for one side and yellow for the others...BME and cracker crumbs just happen to stumble on me the next day! Cracker crumbs was a good find. It was very big...so big that it practically divided itself while I was taking it out for planting. Even divided, it is still huge and very full! I almost died when I saw it! It was the only one and was one of my "must haves" which I made to help me control my hosta buying itch. Lol...so much for that idea...

Naw I sure wouldn't throw them out either. ;) I just hope we can settle the issue before next season. I know Annie's recipe contains alternate instructions for PC vs. BWB and the times differ on them and I wonder if folks aren't confusing the 2 different times. There are so many discussions on the recipe about modifications that it is difficult to tell which ones are valid and which aren't. Plus I know there is a quote here somewhere about how the quarts aren't approved. But so far I can't find it. All I can go by is my copy of Annie's recipe from when it was first posted here years back: process pints at 10 lbs of pressure for 30 minutes. Makes 6 pints. Dave

Those beautiful slide shows are the next best thing to being there. We have no hosta gardens out here at all, so the only mature hostas incorporated into landscaping I ever get to see are in photos. I've saved the links so I can meander through the gardens at my own pace w/o mosquito spray. Thank you, Thank you, Paul. -Babka

I did not work up the courage to even start the GREEN project as I am still very new to all this, and am just learning how to make a block come out the right size! My ideas don't translate to good blocks yet. I'm amazed at all who entered that contest, they were some very original and exciting quilting ideas and I thought it was a wonderful idea to have a contest like that! Such a great theme too. I didn't even vote in the contest -- all of the entries blew me away and I wouldn't have been able to choose!

The support here in the forum is fantastic, especially for creative ideas, and I'm glad I found this place. Someday I will enter a contest like that :)

Congratulations on your winning entry, by the way. It was a wonderful idea and beautifully created!

Congratulations, Bon. Your work is wonderful.
The challenge was fun. I felt your work was exceptional the first time I saw it. Keep up the work. When you are famous we'll be able to say "She got her first win on our forum!!"

Marti is being very quiet..maybe she's out shopping?LOL!
I'm so pleased that my work was so well accepted that I really don't care about the prize part. However I'm sure that attitude will change when a package shows up here!!LOL!!
