Yep, Saturday, and they are open!

It's for my right shoulder now!

Something is wrong and doctor just wants to make sure it doesn't get as bad as my left one!

Thankfully it's a seated MRI.

Last one on the other shoulder was seated and the pictures came out fine!

Very nice people there :o)

What a way to spend a bright sunny Saturday.
We don't like those machines but are grateful for the help they give us. I had to have a pet scan last week with a chemical stress test. Thank goodness my head wasn't in a tube! Best wishes for a good outcome.today.

The rain seems to have passed now, but it is still cold. Was 42 last night, but a beautiful day now.

I hope you get a good report! Getting old is such a joy--a new ache or pain every day. I envy you the seated MRI as the ones here are the tubes that make me more claustrophobic than I already am.

What a great haul of goodies!! Aren't red kitchen goodies great? I started with a red KA mixer (not the color I originally planned on) and realized what a great accent color red is for the kitchen. "Biker approved" How funny!!!! A crème brûlée set! I asked for one of these for Christmas last year, but my son figured I wouldn't get much use out of it and bought me Dave's Insanity Hot Sauces instead. Well, the sauces were really good, but I still want a cb set, LOL! "My rascal son asked it he could have the torch." LOL, I have two sons who were quite a handful growing up. I can just imagine what would've happened if one of them got their hands on something like that!!!! Great box, Carol.

Glenda, steroid shots are a "fix," not a cure. Nothing is. I have had them twice. in my spine.. one month apart back in 2006. Haven't needed any since then, but they did not "cure" me of all of my spinal problems, but were a great relief for that situation. And In my opinion, age has nothing to do with it. I was 82 at the time. That shoulder pain won't go away, or it would have gone away by now, not just gotten worse. The numbing "shot":is no more than a pin prick. After that you will be relaxed and glad that you did it. You may feel a little light-headed when it is over; that is very temporary, if at all. Because my first shot was for my right leg, I had to have some one to drive me home. Second shot was for my left leg, I drove myself home. Since this is your shoulder, I would think it best to have someone drive you home. If you don't have it done, you will probably wish that you did, because it obviously won't get better on its own. Muscle tears are no joke. A good friend of mine had one several years ago, similar to yours. She tried all kinds of PT and even a trip to the Mayo Clinic and mind body therapy. She changed jobs for a shorter commute because her 45 min. sitting in a car each way was contributing to her problem. It did heal, but it took lots and lots and lots of rest. She was an athlete (runner, skiing, kayaking, you name it) and a go-getter. That was the tough part, dialing down and resting. My brother tore his intercostal (between ribs) muscles during a bad bout of coughing sickness. Took him a long, long time to heal too. He also made quite a few rounds to various types of doctors. But in each case I'm describing, they healed. But only after LOTS OF REST. So get on that Jo!! ;)

It's not bright and sunny in Alabama. It's rainy and dreary. So she might as well get the MRI.

Hope it's something they can fix with PT.

No MRI, today! They were running way behind schedule and they said it's hard to catchup when that happens.

I rescheduled for Thursday, and they gave me a $25 resturant certificate for the inconvenience. My choice and I took the IHOP one.

That was nice of them to do that.

A sit up one?! wish I had that 2 weeks ago. Going into that narrow tube with my left shoulder in some kind of holder and the rest of me crunched in the tube was miserable. If I have to have another one I'm going to request a sitting one if they have the capabillities.

kathy, I had one on my left shoulder and they fit you into it snug as a bug in a rug, but you are comfortable. They fit you into it with soft pillows. Even have a fan blowing if you request, which I did.

Took about 45 minutes.

I'm claustrophobic and this did not bother me.

Plus I had an excellant attendant!

Sorry you had to reschedule. I always just want to get whatever test done and over with.

My sister had to have rotator cuff surgery done about 6 or 7 years ago. She said the MRI was horrible. It took over half an hour, she was in severe pain, and was shaky trying to walk afterwards. She said she would never do it again.

Very glad you get the sit in kind next week. Best of luck for a good outcome.

After having my left knee replaced in Oct. I had another MRI, on my left shoulder, and it too needs to be replaced but he doesn't want to do another surgery so soon after the last. I got a shot, so far it's not bad...Sorry you need work done too.
