Congrats on your new arrival! If you LOVE that color and would be happy that it's in your new babies room, you should absolutely GO FOR IT! Depending on lighting differences between the two rooms, it could actually even look like a different color. That's what happened with a blue that we used in our guest room. I loved it so much we used it in our master and it doesn't even look like the same blue.

I think using cream is a perfect idea, as is, no colorwash.
Here's what I'd do:
Use a fresh, clear cream, that will read like buttercream, without too much brown. And then paint the ceiling in your lovely pink color.
You'll tie the room to the rest of the house, and give the room its own identity.
Then paint the chair a warm, clear apple green; or a light, lively olive with a lot of yellow in it; or a bright blue-turquoise; and add a cream pillow with a pink and cream striped ruffle, or something similar.

In a room with only two colors on the same side of the spectrum (pink and brown are two such colors) in it, the eye tries to add the tone that's missing...so one shot of green or blue-green solves the problem, and makes the scheme come alive.

My daughter's pink room is upstairs, and the nursery is on the main floor. Daughter's room is only painted the pink up to 6 feet high in most areas because the walls are vaulted from the attic.

Cream! She'll outgrow the bedding in no time and the Cream looks great with everything in case you decide to change colors in a coouple of years. Plus it won't be pink overload.

I think cream with pink accessories is more delicate and perfect for a little girl!

However, I'm not a fan of Pink and Brown unless it's the furniture that's brown.
