Not really. My best junking friend calls me Mary Land. I always say I think my name must be "G D Marilyn" (the cuss words) because my husband always says, "Well, G D, Marilyn...etc., etc., etc." :))

My dad and a couple friends call me Lid. My grandpa always called me Liddy. One friend called me Lidiot and I was called Lizard by a guy I knew. I didn't have a actual nickname that everyone knew me by though.

I've been called Dottie ever since I was a baby. I was told it was it was because I was so tiny when I was born....no bigger than a Dot Funny thing about my real name. I went through school and even got married as Doris Evelyn. Then got my birth certificate and found my name is Dora Eva. Even my Mother was surprised. She said it was my Dad who made out certificate, and put my name down as his favorite Aunt.

My son who passed away two years ago was named Brian. I over heard him tell some one his name was O'Brian. Guess that came from my saying "Oh, Brian, stop that" LOL

Everyone called me Janie until I was five. When I entered kindergarten I decided I was too old for nicknames and insisted on being called by my full name, Janene.

A couple of family members still call me Janie, but nowadays I like it.

I always hated my name, Juanita. I had all kinds of nicknames growing up because my grandmother and aunt both were named Juanita. When I was in middle school I had a friend that called me Nita and it stuck. Everyone calls me Nita except for my Dad and he mostly calls me Sis.

Bobbie or Bobbie Lee, some people just call me Bob all short for Roberta. I have a sister Juanita that goes by Nita also and another sister whose name is Diane Robin but has always gone by Penny. Strange, I don't know how that happened but no one has ever used her real name. I have a few other sisters and a brother but they go by their real name.

Yes, my nickname has always been Ronnie and everyone calls me that. My parents named me Veronica. My dad hated my nickname and was forever telling my mom what a mistake she made by calling me Ronnie. He prefered the name Vera.

I was given a nickname in late '63 or early '64. I was so well known by it that I was recognized by it wherever I went. In 1968 when vacationing in Hawaii a guy on the beach overheard it and immediately came over and stated you're ________ from ______! It wasn't the first time. LOL

I let the name fade into oblivion in later 1970 because I wanted to "disappear". Today only a handful of people know my nickname. At a reunion an old friend came up and whispered it in my ear. It sounded so foreign after all those years. LOL

Oddly it is not an uncommon nickname today if one should Google it. But for almost 2 decades it belonged to me.

yes, I have several. My oldest brother who was 11 years older than I called me Petunia. He would tease me and tell me its an ugly flower. My other sibblings call me Aus and since most people can't pronounce my real name, I get called Ozzie quite a bit.
Funny story: 4 years ago when I was in New Brunswick for my nephews funeral, I was talking to a lady who was friend of my sister (her son had died), the next day at the funeral home that same lady came up to me and said, I know we spoke yesterday but I didn't get your name, so I told her my name and she asked how I knew the family and told her that Mariya was my sister. She looked puzzled and said, Mariya has another sister? Then it dawned on me that she had only heard Mariya refer to me as Aus and not Ausilia so she didn't make the connection until I told her I was Aus. That same weekend, my son called and whoever answered the phone at the house told him there was no Ausilia there and when asked who was calling he said Dustin, and the lady said oh you must want to talk to Aus.

I have three brothers. I and my baby brother got nicknames given to us by our other brothers. I was often referred to as Donna-Iguana and my little brother was called Sir Dinky (he was small). But Dad gave me the nickname "Last Word Lizzy". No explanation needed. And my DH thinks that name is hilarious and will sometimes call me that during a heated debate, but always with a smile, which usually ends the discussion on a light note.

I have been called Vickaroo, Vickers and VickersJo by some family and friends. DH calls me Punkin or GuFwend.

I do not like to be called Vic. There is only one person that I will allow to call me that...my best friend Kim. It really grates my nerve to be called that by anyone else.

My name is Joanna and my college rugby teammates all called me "Murph" as my last name used to be Murphy. To this day, I'm not sure some of them know my first name. When they used to call me at my parents house on breaks, they would ask for "Murph" and my dad would always say "which one?" if he answered the phone.

My non-rugby college friends called me Jo and many of my friends call me Jo still. My MIL and FIL call me Jo. DH calls me Bear or Bearcat, Jo, or Hon/Honey.

I was born Debra Jo but called Jodi since birth. Have no idea why I was given a name that was never used except by my grandmother. Drives me crazy that my passport reads Debra which means my airline and cruise paperwork, tickets, card keys, blah, blah, blah, all read Debra which means I have an awkward signature on everything with a name I don't even use. I'm writing to the Passport office this week to see if I can officially change my name. Thanks for letting me vent. :-)

My name is Georgene ane when I was growing up I was called Gene or Genie which sounded like Cheen or Cheenie. When I was about 21 one of my sisters boyfriends started calling me Jo and that stuck. My parents always called me cheen though.

I would think you could legally change your name, easily.
I met a guy a couple weeks ago. His given name was Harlan, but got it legally changed to Phoenix, as that is what his friends always called him.

Jasdip, I did change my Social Security card to Jodi several years ago but for some reason didn't do my Passport. Not sure why I didn't. It was probably because I was traveling very soon and needed it renewed in a hurry. I'd gladly pay all the fees again just to get the right name on the darn thing.

DH bought the airline and cruise tickets for the vacation we just returned from and I was nearly denied boarding on the ship and plane because he used Jodi as my name. He didn't realize Debra is still on my passport. What a hassle.
