Poly-Void - where (and why) is it used?

Hi,

I was just looking over my pool contract and price breakdown the other day as we're getting close to being finished and I want to make sure we are not missing anything.

I noticed there is an inclusion for "Poly-void" in the contract. I looked it up online and it appears to be some sort of packing material for joints in decking?

Well we don't seem to have anything like that at the moment - we have flagstone coping and exposed aggregate decking. The aggregate is poured right up to the flagstone around the pool. There are some expansion joints in the deck but they appear to be plastic strips pushed in after the deck was poured.

Along the house foundation the decking is poured up to a wooden form that is hard against the foundation (i.e you see the foundation, then the top of the wood and then the deck).

Am I missing something here?

PS - Also, the contract calls for a light over the equipment pad... apart from convenience if I need something at night, why was that called for?
