Hi Josigirl, Technically, no, you are not supposed to drink alcohol after WLS. I had to sign a paper saying I would not drink alcohol. A couple of reasons.....1) alcholol is empty calories with no real nutrients. When you have WLS pretty much everything you eat should have some nutrients because you can't eat that much. 2) For some, they feel the effects of alcohol much faster after surgery. 3) Some cannot tolerate the carbonation after surgery. The bubbles from the beer isn't well tolerated. Having said all that, I had surgery January 13th. I have had a few beers since surgery without any problems. I drank them slow. I've had a few sips of a margarita. It will greatly depend on the person. Some will be able to tolerate alcohol, some won't. Hope I answered your questions.

I had an ablation about 6 years ago. I had previously had surgery to remove a couple of fibroids and that helped considerably, but a year later I was still having bleeding issues and I had the ablation. (my doctor had suggested it at the time of the fibroid removal, but I didn't want to do them both at the same time). My periods didn't stop, but I discovered Light tampons, and only needed about 5 of them a month. I haven't heard of women having hormonal problems after ablation. I certainly didn't have any problems with my procedure, which was done with the balloon method. I had cramping for less than 12 hours, then felt fine. You do need to use birth control, because you can conceive, but there is no where for the embryo to implant without the lining, so a pregnancy could be dangerous. I think that it's important to know why you are having bleeding problems. For example,if you have fibroids like I did, an ablation isn't going to remove the underlying problem.

I would buy a scratch stick and fill it in myself. Because wood fillers stay forever tacky dirt will quickly collect over it. So I would take a paint brush and dip it into polyurethane and cover over it carefully. My floor is 50+ years old with nails holding it in place instead of the tongue & groove. Often the wood putty pops off a nail head and I just recover it again with new putty. I think this guy was lazy and didn't tell you the truth about the scratch but he should have filled it in with a stick or putty before he polyurethaned over it.

I love their look and I really want to purchase the set. I did read other post of people who bought the slate for their kitchen updates and absolutely love them and their look. I just haven't read any posts or info on long term owners and if the slate or satin scratch easier than typical stainless. And if they do, are the scratches more noticeable? I did read that the black stainless, scratches easily and is pretty noticeable when it does; allowing the steel to be exposed. I just made a post, so if I get any feedback...I'll let you know what was said. ; )
