By all means go with the gray finish in the pool!
Our pool was just finished,and it is awsome!
We have French Silver(light gray)and the water color is
gorgeous.Emeril green!WOW!
Our tile is slate,similar to what you got,but a shade more
teal.
Our deck is broom finished natural concrete with a cantalever edge.Misty gray spray deck would work fine too.

This combination is much different the tradition windex color water that every other pools has.
It`s modern and recieves tons of compaments.

I was the same way, crazy about picking the right colors...kept wondering will the blues clash????? I drove myself nuts. In the end it came out great which I am sure yours will too.

I really like it! There are so many variations of blue and green in the tile that it's sure to work with any water color. Questions - will there be any coping? where is the RBB located and what are its dimensions? is each tile 6"?

Well - and I find this amusing - both Wet Edge and our builder have strongly advised we go with white plaster and that if we went with grey to expect a "lot" of mottling and that it probably won't look like what we expect. I'm a bit confused, why do you offer that product then? I find it very strange. Oh well, every sign (including that of my husband) is saying WHITE so it'll probably be white. I'm kind of bummed, but I am the type who might be driven crazy by the mottling (that's what I'm telling myself).

hawkfive... the deck will just act as the coping (or does that mean we have no coping, lol, I'm not sure!). The raised bond beam is on the side by our house - we are using it as a retaining wall so to speak (yard slopes down from the house). So really, you'd only see the bond beam if you are in the pool. I believe it is 18" high. The tiles are 6" each. I heard they *might* start tile today. We'll soon see how this all looks!

And I love it! Whew, quite relieved about that! The shade variations are a bit more subtle in person then in the photo, but either way, I'm happy! I actually love it against the grey deck, but hubby wants the tan, and I think it will look just fine as well. :)

It's going to be beautiful! Remind me again what color water your want. White plaster will give you a nice aqua color which will be great with the tile.

houseful - I want my water to be pretty! LOL - is that a good answer? I guess I just don't want the water color to look "weak". I love your color, but you have the Ultrapoz, don't you? And a diving pool if I recall? I worry that the white, in combination with the pool not being very deep, just may be a little blah. I also love twochicklet's pool, I think it's a grey finish of some sort.

I kind of feel like everyone is going NO to the gray, heck even the maker and builder. The "no's" are coming at me from every side. :)

I am not thrilled with my grout - while I guess I knew antique white would look "white" i guess it just changed the look of the tile some. It'll be okay, I just liked it a lot better pre-grout. See what I get for not obessing about something and just going with the builders advice, lol? It'll be fine, it'll be fine... I'm still really happy with my tile!

You can put some blue and black 3M crystals into your white plaster. That's all they did to mine (blue only). For some reason I think each bag is about $150, but I don't know where I came up with that idea. Might only cost you less than $500. You might also be able to get them to put just an ever so slight blue mix into the plaster. My guy was going to do that for me, but I by the time we were ready for plaster, we both forgot. I think you need quite a bit of grey to get a color change which is why you see the mottling.

My grout was supposed to be grey, but it looks white to me, LOL! The hard water will definitely lighten it. I seriously thinking of trying to color mine with the Aquamix grout colorant. It's not high on my priority list though.

Ok, here's my opinion on your colors: I think it's too much of the same color w/ so much in the tan/brown color. Maybe you could go w/ a grey wok pot instead of tan to change the colors up a bit.
If you don't think you can handle the mottling, then you should stick w/ white for your plaster. But, swimmingin07 did a grey interior from Wetedge. There's a link at the bottom to her pics. Or you can do a search for her to read more about her Wetedge experience. I think it turned out great by the pics.

mindy ~ I LOVE swimmingin07's pool ~ everything about that pool is amazing and the water color is just gorgeous, I've admired it for months. I believe she actually had the Primera Stone finish from Wet Edge, and I think that is their top of the line finish, where the Altima is the bottom of the line - it's my understanding that they are completely different products (and the Primera Stone being completely out of my price range unfortunately, lol!). Too bad, as boy, I LOVE that water color!

It is probably too late for me to offer up any advice/opinions, but have you considered going with a light blue plaster instead of gray? I went with Bella Blue Pebblefina, but my neighbors went with plain plue tinted plaster and the end results are quite similar with respect to the color of the water (brighter, richer blue than white plaster, but not the steel blue of grey plaster, and less mottling). Quite similar to the Caribbean Blue 3M colorquartz.

Other than that, i really like your color choices, etc. and they wok very well together. I agree with mindy that the wok pots might be better in gray.

Hawkfive, thanks for checking in on us!

It's been very slow. Funny, after you give the builder the last big check, they suddenly seem to lose all motivation. I've not been a happy gal lately. We finally had the pool cleaned out on Saturday, the fence people came yesterday and set the posts and hopefully someday we'll get the deck finished. We found out last night that the post on our patio we were attaching the fence to would not pass inspection (guess the pool builder over looked that) so last night my husband was up late modifying the post.

As far as finishes go... NO grey plaster. I'm very bummed, but I have had EVERYONE at the builder tell me no, they have had terrible luck with the grey, to the point they would prefer not to offer it at all, but I guess have to offer it as part of their deal with the company who makes it. So white it is. I'm sure it'll be nice. I wish the blue was an option, but unfortunately it's not.

I like the idea of the grey wok pots, but the grey pottery color seems very "faux" grey to me if that makes sense, like I'd rather have it be plain concrete then sort of the milky grey they have. So tan tan tan we go. At this point I've reached the "anything will be fine, I just want to be done" stage. We were very lucky to have things go super smooth in the beginning, but heck, even I knew that was too good to last! ;) Once we have the fence up I will be much happier ~ it just makes me SO nervous for my four year old and my little blind old dog to be in the backyard (even with my constant supervision). I just keep seeing one wrong step and my daughter falling into that concrete hole.

I'm glad they finally got moving again. It makes no sense to me that the builder would require the last big check w/ so much still left to be done. Are you completely paid for or do you have a small amount still left.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

We still owe like $1500-2000, not exactly a "motivating" amount one could say. :) We did get the fence almost totally installed (they are going to redo a part tomorrow) and will paint it, hopefully before week's end. Decking - who knows? We almost had the deck all dried out (it is in full shade all the time) but the plumber was out today to finish the cleaning system, and the deck was soaked again. Oh well, at least we are moving forward!
