Desperate Housewives question

Help, what is the "5 years later" all about?? Is the show ending for good? Are we now jumping ahead 5 years? I'm confused.

yes the father got arrested and the Mother and Grace stayed with the Solis(sp?) family for a while then they decided to leave and go stay with family in Texas or Mexico. Gabby's daughter just recently figured out on her own that Grace was their real daughter and she was the daughter of the other family. Originally the gal that married Paul was doing it for her mother with the goal being to do something to Paul, then the girl apparently had a change of heart and now likes Paul and is not following Moms orders any longer. Paul had no idea who her mother was till the police told him.

OK, I've got a question about last night's episode. First of all, does anyone still have it on tape/DVR to go back and check some dialogue? When everyone was in the hospital waiting room to find out the status on the person who was most severely injured (and ultimately didn't make it), Lynette suddenly clutches her very pregnant belly and looks at Tom and said something. Which of these sentences did she say? "I think there's something wrong with the baby." or... "I think there's something wrong with the babies." or "I think there's something wrong with one of the babies." Lynette was supposed to be pregnant with twins. I thought that when the doctor was telling Lynette (when she was on a gurney) that they had to do surgery, that he was talking like she was pregnant with twins; that one had died because of the blow to her abdomen during the plane crash; and that in order to have any chance to save the other one that she had to have immediate surgery to hopefully prevent any "developmental disabilities." But after the surgery and after Lynette's dream, she wakes up and asks Tom how the surgery went... and how the baby was doing. He responds with telling her that the baby didn't make it, but that the other baby will be just fine. That kinda confused me -- okay, I admit I shouldn't have been knitting a complicated cable pattern while I was watching -- but if before the surgery she was told that one twin didn't make it and they needed surgery to hopefully prevent disabilities in the remaining twin, then when Lynette asked "how did the surgery go" she would already know that one twin had died... So, obviously I missed something. Does anyone know for certain what was said/what happened?

I wondered what happened to the younger sister, Celia, too. Yes, Gabby had two daughters that appeared on the show during that season where they did a five year jump forward during the hiatus. She had Juanita and Celia. Juanita was the baby they had so much trouble conceiving, and is now apparently not their real daughter (she is the chubby one and Gabby will probably be thrilled she is not her real daughter, I suspect her real daughter will be thin and pampered like Gabby). The littlest girl they had was named Celia and she was a miracle conception that occurred when Carlos never got his vasectomy and let Gabby think he had done it so she stopped taking her birth control and conceived. Celia was also the one who was saved from the airplane crash by Lynette, causing her to loose the other baby she was carrying. According to the Internet, the actress playing Celia has not been confirmed for season 7, the premier makes it seem as if the little actress may be off the show as far as on screen time, but there is a moment where Gabby and Bree are talking and Gabby refers to her girls - plural. I wonder if they'll replace her with a different actress at some point, renew the original girl or just keep her off screen and referred to in dialogue. I did not think that was him.

When does the next season start. I am already having withdrawal...

I think I'll get Season's 1 and 2 since I missed them, and enjoy them in the meantime.

Yeah I thought that was kind of a weird ending. Susan's new husband did look like Katherine's current husband. I thought Gabby with her kids was so funny. I hope they don't start up at that point next season - there will be a lot of unanwered questions if they do - like what happened to Mike? I love Mike. I hope they don't get rid of him.

I think they'll just continue as is - this way they can use the same "season finale" over and over again for the next 3 years. Just rename the title slide to say, "4 Years Later", "3 Years Later"!!

Maybe in 5 years it'll just go off the air!

What actually happened to Katherine's real daughter? For some reason I could not figure out what went wrong.

Katherine's "real" daughter was accidently killed when a dresser she climbed on to get her doll toppled onto her and crushed her to death. Mom and Aunt buried her body in the woods.

I replayed the tape and don't think that was Katherine's husband Adam. This guy looks much younger and thinner in the face. Kinda looked like a real young Chris Noth.

I was just telling my sister last week how I thought the show was getting boring and predictable and the novelty had worn off for me and I was thinking about not wasting my time watching it anymore. I've changed my mind. LOL Last night's season finale changed my thinking and the show surprised me. I loved how it ended 5 years later.

You know, Gabby use to be my least favorite character, but now she's one of my favorites. I love her sort of twisted sense of humor when she's dealing with Carlos.

I too thought the man Susan was kissing at the end of the show was Adam. I'm going to rewatch that part tonight. I didn't start watching the show until 10:30 after the country music awards went off, so I was getting pretty sleepy by that time.

I haven't watched it yet...going to tonight. I always ge so confused when they stop for so long like they do. I have the first 3 season's and will get the 4th as soon as it comes out. I love to watch them with no interruptions....I lose so much with the long breaks they take in between shows. It seems like it just came back on from the strike and now it's over already! My brain can't keep it all stright sometimes! I can't wait to watch last nights finale!

I think they did the 5 year preview because many of the "secrets" are out and they need more to bait us with?

Just read the USA Today article and don't believe a word of it.

I think the "5 years later" ending will be worked in as someone's active imagination and the show will still be where it is today once it starts up again in the fall.

Too many of the actors have made blatant comments about their futures and too many are being written off. None of it reads true to me.

Thanks for the article. I think it's a great concept to move ahead.There's nothing more awkward than to deal with actors who outgrow their parts mid-season. This way the pre-teens and those who played older kids can move on with their careers.

Thanks for the article. I had recorded it and watched it tonight and went "HUH!" at the ending. I did like it when the evil little girl was sent packing.

Here's my theory about the 'five years later' portion- it's really a dream sequence - and it will be revealed when Bob Newheart wakes up and says - Gee honey, remember that dream I had about being an innkeeper in Vermont? Well I had another doozy last night about all these women!"
