A friend of mine who is building a lovely new home is using SW Muslin (a light cream with a hint of gold and green) for her walls and trim throughout the house and is using various blues and greens (BM Beach Glass and Raindance, SW Oyster Bay) in some of the bathrooms and other small rooms. It is turning out lovely. She put some of those glass tiles in a green/blue colorway around her fireplace and as her backsplash. They are not powdery colors-they are saturated blues and greens but still sophisticated looking. I will ask her the name of her tiles.

Sorry...I realized my message wasn't very clear...I shouldn't post late at night after a long and overwhelming day trying to figure all of this out! The tile is the fleur de lis design with a blue-ish fleur de lis with a golden yellow background with a few reddish pink accent dots [Avignon - Rhone]. I have a few ceramic pieces in my kitchen now that are blue and white that I'd like to keep. I was hoping that I could do a golden toned granite and that the tiles with the blue and gold would tie it together, but I haven't seen granite yet that looks particularly good with those tiles. The Cosa Marble brand tile is my second choice--Fleur de Lis in the giallo color--so I thought maybe I should give up on the WZ tile and just find a granite that I like. Most likely, whatever golden tone I choose would go with the Cosa Marble tile. I prefer the WZ tile, though. Thanks.

senator13; I loved your kitchen all of it. I have been looking for several years for a way to install an apron front sink in my existing laminate countertops. I'm not talking about the Ikea Djomso sink. I've been looking at the Kohler Dickinson. And I was so excited when I came across yours. How did you ensure that the the laminate edges that butt up against the sink are waterproof? Please share any secrets/tricks that made it possible. Also how is it after this amount of time? I have an extremely busy kitchen in a family of 8. Thank you so much, I look forward to hearing from you.

I do like that, but I have a sunflower motif in my kitchen & that would kind of clash, but it's a great idea. I have been thinking about using peel & stick floor tile then finding some trim that matched. Does anyone have a reason that this wouldn't work? I would think it would be durable & clean easily. I've linked to the patterns that I like. Also, Windy~ The kitchen actually isn't as small as some SW's. It's approx. 13'x13'... I've seen smaller in stick built homes. But, I wasn't going to do anything really "splashy", that's just not my style. I considered using mirrored plexi-glass that I found on Ebay, but thought that would probably show dirt & fingerprints, etc. extremely well. My walls are now a "Hazelnut Cream" color...
