Thank you all....it will take some time for me to get over this. You are all right, one would assume that a parent would feed the babies well enough before fledging for them to make it through the process or surly see that they were failing and needed to be fed a few more times to make it up to the sky. I have been over and over this in my head, I have so many questions that I know nobody will have the answers to. The first being how does a Tres get hit by a car on a nearly no traffice rural road, then it all snowballs from there. I am sure everybody feels this way wether it be a HOSP a HOWR, a racoon, ants, snake, poisioning or cat, it HURTS to lose one of our birds and to know it suffered and to think there MAY have been something more you could have done. I guess I should consider myself very lucky to have this be my first loss in 5 years. Thank you all again, nobody but you guys would really understand this heartache.

Thank you oakley...you said it better than I . I am a believer in people . I have had two brothers commit suicide and a son that has struggled with mental illness for decades. Deciding to write a person off because they have performed in a way that is abhorrent to the rest of us is a knee jerk reaction. It has taken me decades to realize that someone else's pain can be and likely is greater than mine. I will never know what moves them to the actions they commit . My DH and I get up every single day and say thank you for the life we have. I would hope that others would do the same. Energy spent reviling those that are "different" is wasted. Take care of the circle of light that surrounds you that is ALL that any of us can do. If we each do this the circles will grow to include all. c

Check the temperature of your oven with ONLY the light on. If it doesn't have a light, use a "trouble light" or a small lamp. Be sure to check the temperature at several locations in the oven. The temperature also fluctuates with the ambient temperature of the kitchen. I generally find the temperature as far away from the light as possible is around 80°-85°F in my oven. -Grainlady

I'm sorry :( Pools are very fun, especially when you have young children, but are a lot of work and a big expense to keep up. Besides having to maintain it, our electric bill is quite high due to the pool motor, particularly during the summer when it needs to run for several hours a day. We still have one 10-year old at home and she and her friends love using the pool during most of the year, but If and when we move we won't be looking for a house with a pool. Jacuzzi, yes! Pool, no. My daughter and son-in-law filled in the pool in their first home that they bought last year. They now have a beautiful deck in that space
