I am still new here but wanted to wish you a great day. Oh and to keep things on subject, we got our sample paints yesterday for my dreary living room. I still have yet to convince hubby to move the man TV.

Momee, you have the perfect nic for today. I agree, Happy Moms day to all. My kids are on the way over and look at me, lol, I'm so addicted to this forum that I have my coffee and checking in before the day gets too busy. Bet lots of you do the same thing, lol lol They don't know that this is a modern day sisterhood.

That's so nice of you, Karl. Gary spent all day working in the gardens with me yesterday, so that was a wonderful Mother's Day gift in itself. I planted roses, and he transplanted minis and mulched. He is very talented artistically as far as creating gardens and adding interesting stonework, etc. We never knew it til now. :0) It's kind of lonely having all 3 of our kids out of the house now. One in Guam, one on Long Island, and our youngest lives only 10 miles away right now, so we're meeting her for dinner at Moe's (Mexican cantina style food) in about an hour. Hope you all have a nice day as well! P.S. We owe our love of rose gardening to Mother's Day 2000. We had nothing better to do that day than to visit a garden center that day, and see our first Austin rose in a box. I thought I couldn't grow a marigold, much less a rose, but Gary bought me Teasing Georgia and Falstaff, and the rest is history! :0) Phyl

Jan and Ellie, I moved Sp. Starburst last fall from full sun to mostly shade. That may explain the pink color this year? Last year it was golden yellow and looked shiny and burnt. The edges held up...didn't melt...just looked burnt. This year I'm having the same problem with Sp. Surprise Purple. I might move it, too. Jean and jkunkel, glad you liked the pics. Mama's Cherry Pie is like Sp. Starburst...does better with some shade. Wineberry C. and Catherine W. are both in full sun and do fine. Kathy

Happy Mother's Day everyone. We will be having a cookout at Amber and Mike's with everyone pitching in and bringing food. We are not going to have ours until around five in the evening. I went to a Mother / Daughter banquet at our church this evening. Had a nice meal prepared by the men, I think mostly by the preacher. Had cubed steak with brown gravy, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, green beans, cottage cheese and coleslaw. For dessert we had ice cream, sherbet and some little pastry things with fruit in them. Very tasty meal and very much enjoyed. Sue

LOL @ yayagal...I was checking in real quick too before my daughter comes over :-) We're going out for a 4 generation lunch. I'm lucky enough to have a grandma who is nearly 103, still lives alone, and is looking forward to going out to eat with us. So even though I have 2 grown daughters, I'm still the granddaughter too! Happy Mother's Day!

I try to remember through every good day and hectic day that our children are our greatest accomplishments.
