Bedroom paint color help

We are ready to get started on painting bedrooms, and I could use a little help. I posted on Rate My Space, and have received very useful input. Now I'm appealing to you GWebbers to help me nail it down.

See the link below for the whole story. I have identified the colors that "match" the flooring, now I'd like some insight on the other side of the color wheel. We tend to use BM Aura, and those are the colors mentioned.

You have a lot of brown in there with the floor and furniture, so I think you need a complimentary shade for the walls. What about a green or blue or a teal/aqua? I'm thinking along the lines of SW Halcyon Green, Interesting Aqua or Oyster Bay-something along those lines.

I love the lush foliage and trees just outside the room's windows, and I keep thinking I want more green! In my mind's eye, I'm picturing something like SW Overt Green. DH won't go for it though-LOL!

I love rich jewel tones; I always buy spice colored/scented candles... So my preferences are pretty clear. I'm really liking the idea of the colors that work with the cork though, and I wouldn't have expected that.

Any more complementary color suggestions?

I am also always drawn to this inspiration pic of jute/sisal look with light gray walls too, but my husband likes gray as he thinks it won’t show as much dirt and wear....

There are so many neat greens to choose from. I like the SW strip with Celery and Ryegrass on it. The strips next to that strip (higher numbers, but don't recall the actual numbers) are really nice as well. There are shades like Baize Green and Great Green, as I recall, on those strips. Celery/Ryegrass are greens with a touch of yellow, but as the strip numbers go higher, those colors run slowly toward greens with more blue. Those shades are not "grayed" like the shades I mentioned in my first post.

I don't have the color deck at hand, so am not familiar with Overt Green.

A suggestion - talk to the color consultant at your SW store (call to see when that person will be in) and describe what you're looking for. That person should be able to suggest some colors to you. Once you've narrowed it down, buy a sample jar ($5) of a few colors you are considering. Paint either foamboard or a block on your walls (some advocate not painting the wall itself, but I do anyhow because I can't always tell if I like it from the foamboard. Just be sure to prime over any blocks you've painted directly on the walls so those areas don't show through the finish paint). Those sample jars have saved me a LOT of money.

I think green is a good choice. I love green or blue for bedrooms. You just need to find the shade of green that "speaks" to you.
