I receive McCall's Quick Quilts. It's good for beginning quilters because the pattern are all pretty easy.

No. They are so expensive and so full of ads and very few patterns I would use.

there were a few i had gotten but didn't feel they met my needs. with 7 quilt stores close by i can get all the help i need and good advise. and buy patterns when i find one i like.

I have been getting Fons and Porter lately. I have tried many of them, i.e., McCalls, BH&G, Quiltmaker and many others and yes there are way too many ads and few patterns that I would try but I have founds some patterns that I do use. I keep them all for reference and read through them from time to time especially during long cold winter evenings.

No, but I do scan in the bookstore. I buy only if there is something I want to make.

I'm trying two for the first time, McCalls Quilting and Quiltmaker. But, may not continue as I seem to find so much online and elsewhere.

Over the years I have subscribed to quite a few, but like many others I don't usually care for the patterns they have, and I've collected so many books, instructions and tips that even those columns don't have any new info for me. Plus I have so many patterns I'll never get to them all! :)

I used to get several,but not any more.I found they were just like fabric,i have way more than i'll ever use in this lifetime,so i stopped them all.

The only magazine i still get is birds and bloom.

I get Fons and Porter, McCall's Quick Quilts, and The Quilter. A friend gets some of the other magazines and loans them to me. I like to sit and look through them while watching TV with DH in the evening.

No I check out the latest at the local library and when the issue is a month out of date then the last current issue can be borrowed. If there is something I want, I scan it or make a photocopy. It would have to be some magazine I really wanted for me to purchase my own copy, I do have several very nice quilting books I've bought over the years and check out garage sales for finds when I go.

No, I have never subscribed to a magazine. In Canada there is a high handling and postage charge so it is cheaper to buy off the newsstand.

Like many of you, I don't find a lot of patterns that I would make and far to many ads. I get lots of info on the internet so I don't really need them.

No, I don't receive magazines. I used to, but I was running out of room to store them and wasn't really using them so stopped them all. I recently went through all I had and gave a lot of them to Hospice for their saleroom.

I find patterns online and still have quite a few mags plus patterns....I feel sorry for my kids. Guess Salijo will inherit them.

I have gotten "Am.Patchwork and Quilting" almost from the frist issue and have made several things from them. I also get "Quilter's World", which I enjoy. Recently I subscribed to "Quilt", it was offered at a very low price. I can't say I am impressed with it. Each time a subscription runs out I explore getting a different magazine subscription. That way I try many different ones.
I have enjoyed Fons and Porter, Mc Calls, Mc Calls Quick Quilts, and Quilters Newsletter. I keep my magazines for reference and even enjoy some of the ads, as they keep me current with what is going on in the quilt world.

I get American Quilter from AQS because I am a member, Fons & Porter and F&P Easy Quilts (I got those as a gift) and was recently gifted McCalls. I love to look through them when I need some inspiration. I would love to find a good one that focuses on applique.

I received a gift subscription of McCalls quick and easy I think the name is. It is interesting how when you browse at the store you want every issue but when I get a subscription, I am usually a little disappointed.

I truly love magazines though and love going back to look at old issues. D

I subscribe to Fons and Porter, Quilt World, McCalls Quilting, Quilt, and Designs in Machine Embroidery, way too many, but I just love magazines, and use them mostly for inspiration. Very difficult for me to part with them, is that a sickness and is there a cure for that? Been very fortunate and many have been gifts from family.

I've bought several issues of Mark Lipinski's Quiter's Home; I absolutly love this magazine and will be subscribing to it this month.

I'm like a lot of you; since the mid-70s I've collected so many quilting books and mags that I no longer find a lot that I need. My quilting tastes are more traditional. While I love the new styles of bold prints, colors, fabrics, and techniques; I still prefer little calico prints in soft colors and old fashioned, traditional patterns. Log Cabins, Dresden Plates, and 9-Patches make me happy.

And yet, I'm subscribing to Quilter's Home which is more modern. LOL Any publisher/quilting dude that calls his readers "Cupcake," "Chicken," and "Doll" in each issue; who includes food and cocktail recipes in each issue, and puts a picture of his beloved dog on each cover, has my attention. Add informative and interesting quilting articles and he has my limitled magazine budget, too!

The only other magazine I subscribe to, like Kathi MDGD, is Birds and Blooms. I've subscribed to it since the early 90s, but its quality and size is going downhill too. It use to never have ads; now it does. This will by my last subscription to it. I'll pull out all the old issues (stored in order, LOL) and enjoy the "good old days" all over again.
