Prayers needed times 2

I mostly lurk here, so I hope it's okay if I ask for prayers, good thoughts, or simply a smile.

My dad (Bill) is having surgery this morning for the cancer that was discovered in his colon. He's 82 and his health is not good. We have been told chemo is not an option. The doctors say they have one chance to get it all. We're praying for that to happen.

In addition, my 91 year old FIL (Ken) was taken to the hospital with a minor stroke. As they do tests they're finding more and more wrong with his health. We're praying for guidance for him to make the best decision about treatment (or not) so he can live out his remaining time in the best way possible.

Thank you all. I hope this makes sense. It's been a sleepless few days.

Sorry I haven't had much time on computers this past week. DS seems to be doing great. He woke up Sat. morning at 7 and said "mom lets go ys". After waking up every hour to give him meds I wasn't sure I was in the mood. But five minutes later I sure was.LOL He doesn't like ys but knows I do so up and off we went. He's still in pain at times since he's trying to cut back on the meds but seems to be working that out. Jane, so sorry I haven't been on top of what's going on with you! Know I care but not enough me time lately. I'll keep you in my prayers and hope the PT works wonders for you. Biz, that's wonderful your DM came thru and feels better now. I love a story with a good ending. Karen, I sure hope your surgery goes well in March. So glad you are able to hold off until the big "M" kicks in. Thanks so very, very much Everyone for all the posts. It's wonderful to have so many sharing, caring people here. Thanks, Sisters! Wish it wasn't so late and I'd personally answer each post. It seems like God always answers when I pray for others, not so much when I ask for myself. KT prayers helped my cousin Joyce when she fell and broke her hip, then had a heart attack the next day. Also helped her sister Judy when she had a heart blockage and needed surgery on December 24 a couple years ago.

Oh I am so sorry to hear of the failing health of both of them. It is so hard to deal with situations like that. I know we are dealing with my 89 yr old mother and her dwindling health.
