good news about my friend from work

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I got a call today that Marg's blood pressure is improving and she tried to open her eyes last night. She's still in serious condition and they still don't know if it was a heart attack or what actually happened but she's improving!!!!! YEAH

I'll keep you updated as I know more. My heart feels so much lighter today, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Please continue to pray for her.

Diane, I'm so sorry. I really was hoping she was on her way to recovey but it isn't right to suffer either. May she rest in peace. I can't imagine how tough this has been on her family. Life the way we know it can change in an instant. I'm glad your Rachel's friend, she's going to need you.

I would think twice about painting the risers--mine always get scuff marks. I much prefer the look of white (without scuffs) risers, but if I knew that mine were always going to get scuffed I would have considered wooden risers. I would first try painting the spindles and see if that gets you what you want.

thanks everyone. I'm getting a card to send to her today. I think George (Marg's partner) became close to Marg's family because he wasn't close to his own , except when they wanted money. I'm sure he was closer to Rach since she was always with Marg so I'm sure he's feeling he has lost it all. I remember Marg saying that they had a cake and party for him for his 60th birthday and he cried because no one had ever done such a nice thing for him. I also think he's drinking a lot again and he may have been drunk when he texted Rach. It's all just so sad. Thanks again Diane

Chisue, I think DD is going to move in with her Gram and look for a job in Chicago. She has a couple friends from college who are living around Chicago and would love to live with her Gramma. I will feel so much better having her there. I will spend the next week with my Mom and help her. Apparently her right arm is still somewhat affected and weak.

I would imagine she's in intensive care, I'll find out more when I go into work tomorrow. I know this is just baby steps and I'm trying not to get too hopeful but it IS a start!
I don't have much faith in the medical profession here in UK especially the stories I've heard about the hosp she's in.
Rach's birthday is Wed (6/1) I wish Marg would be alert enough to wish her a happy birthday and continue to improve. I'm certain that would be the perfect gift for Rach

Keep in mind if your friend is still on life support, she probably will be pretty heavily drugged to keep her from pulling out tubes. This could also keep her pretty drowsy and unable to move. Your friend might actually be able once they stop the drugs, to come awake and be a lot better.
